Dave Grohl on his singing voice

The frontman of Foo Fighters regrets that he doesn't have the singing voice of a John Lennon or an Adele, but as Dave Grohl tells Anthony Mason in this web exclusive, he's fine with being able to exude the raw passion of "dissident, noisy, crazy punk rock."

It's that "raw passion" that makes Dave one of the greatest still doing it.
You can see he has no technique (even though he uses some scream and distortion - drive - techniques, but he doesn't have that "vocal-arts-student vibe"), and he misses some notes, but he is a beast. And you also can see, from 90's to now, how much he has developed as lead singer, when he embrassed his voice, and started working on his things, specially his drives, which, for me, is his trademark from 2006 foward.
For me, by the time Wasting Light was released, he was fully grown and had stablished who he was (as a singer) and embrassed what his voice sounded like.
But it's always nice to see Dave speaking about himself.

vocals are to me more about having a charactaristic voice and create interesting melodies. And yeah it shouldn't be spoiled with constant out of tune singing, but he sings in tune most of the time. And he has just that, if you hear him, you know it is him. No voice like his and he is not trying to sound like someone else like MANY vocalists do these days. Keep sh*t genuine and from the heart <3
