ETA prime did a video on it and tore it down. It has a huge heat shield on it and actually does great for gaming! He overclocked it to 2.1ghz and played dreamcast, Saturn, Atomis wave and more with no problems running at 2 1ghz. I have one and I run the new Venom build and have it clocked at 2.0ghz with no problems.

The giant heat sink in the pi 400 makes it run cooler than the 4 ever thought about running. The only downfall of the 400 is the lack of an additional USB port and the audio out. The keyboard is nice for arcade cabinets, but the audio and usb makes it a pain.

The Pi 400 cools very well, even after overclocking. The passive cooling is good enough.

The Pi 400 is overclocked and has a large heat sink (metal plate) that goes all the way across. It resembles retro home computers where it's all one unit, such as an Amiga. With the Pi 4 choosing a case, such as black or silver will make a multipurpose option. White is risky in case it yellows.

Good video. For people using the Pi mostly for Retropie or in a living room, the 400 is really a non-starter unless you enjoy having an HDMI cable snaking across the floor from the Pi to the TV.

The PI400 cooling performance has been shown to be superior to a regular PI4 even with active cooling and the best case you can find. The SoC in the pi400 is a newer more efficient stepping from what I understand which makes sense since its default clock is higher then the pi4, plus the overclocking potential of the pi400 is a lot better too.

I have to say I've had no problems whatsoever with RetroPie on my Pi 400 even while over clocked.

Great video! would you be able to make a video on updateing a retropie from stretch to buster, i know a clean install is always recommended, but if you could show which files to copy over to keep all setting would be cool.

Pi 400 has a different CPU than the Pi 4. Sorry to say, but it's no competition. Pi 400 uses an updated version of the CPU chip.

Is there any difference in gaming between pi 4, 2gb-4gb and 8gb ? Is it the same for ps1, n64, dreamcast and Naomi games? Or there are lags on gaming on 2gb and 4gb? I have pi 3b+ where there are many lags on these consoles and I am asking if it worths to buy Pi 4 8gb for retrogaming because it is expensive compared to 2gb and 4gb, thanks for the video!

Are there any good Raspberry Pi 4 complete kits?

I like an all-inclusive computing solution, and the Pi400 seems to have that on lock.

But I want to experiment with mining, but with the heat concerns you’ve raised about the RaspberyPi products, I don’t if Ethereum & Bitcoin mining on this Pi400 can serve as a good demo mining device that can handle such an extended activity or are there other low-cost mining alternatives with little physical footprints, that one can purchase, setup pretty easily to get into this part of the blockchain ecosystem?

Have you tried running your new 512 gig card on the pie 400? I can’t get any controllers to register
