I think people think they're uncanny because they dont seem like they are really not there to some. I do like the style and the expressions but i dont know it does seem like they look like they are not really there, thats my take. Very expressive but just comes off as the dogs not feeling like they're there. I mean they don't come off like real dogs. They're not of course, but like you dont believe they're actually exsiting dogs. But yesh animation is definitely pretty good on expressions. Probably maybe should have used some props, real dogs, and the mix of cgi for more difficult situations that could be to hard or dangerous for the dogs too perform. So quick add on, i guess they did use real dogs for some possible scenes
