The sample, either solid or liquid, is introduced into the DMA-80 evo autosampler, dried and then thermally decomposed in an oxygen-rich stream. Mercury and other combustion products are released and flow through the catalyst, where all interferences are eliminated, while mercury is selectively reduced and trapped by gold amalgamation then released into multiple measuring cells positioned along the optical path of the spectrophotometer.
The double beam technology dramatically reduces the signal to noise ratio, improving the quantification limit, accuracy and precision, ensuring superior reproducibility, reliability of the results and greater performances even at ppt levels.

Super cool learning about mercury analysis whole about on my study of impinger, Sherer equipment. My case that brought me hear is to have a nice flat bottom graduated cylinder gas bubbler. After 5 hours of searching equipment, I learned impinger equipment and injection bubbler for Mercury analysis. Must have traveled somewhere into the future by now, because this water equipment that became the foreruy after basic study equipment is amazing!
