In a big country is such a cool song, strange it has such inspiring uplifting lyrics to keep going and he died by suicide, may he rest in peace

I spent over an hour just me and Stuart at a charity gig before he left to live in America, , as another local guitar player we were becoming good mates, ,i was trying to raise the courage to say" heres my moby number " give me a bell anytime but i never, , i heard at the end he was calling around but as is the case with rock stars they can live a lonely existence, ,how i wish i could go back and change that night, ,all these years later its still heart breaking, ,he was unique !

I was 4 in 1983 but I'm still rocking to In a big country to this day. One of my favorite songs from the 80s. RIP Stuart

Stuart and Big Country were my heroes in the '80s and always will be. "The Crossing" and "Steeltown" are two of the greatest albums of ALL TIME! ❤

I just listened to The Crossing in full yesterday. There are so many great songs on that album beyond “Big Country“. Definitely worth the time to sit back and absorb.

Some of their other songs are so melancholy and beautiful. I was sad to hear of his passing❤

Several of their songs have hauntingly beautiful lyrics and music that grab hold of you and won't let you go.
It's tragic that life is more than some people can bear.

I fell in love with with “ In a big country “
the song and the group. I used to play that song over and over ….and time passes. Last week I went to check on the construction of my house and guess what someone ( carpenter ) was playing that song and blasting it …hit hard, R.I. P. we never met but you are an old friend Stuart.
