If only the off brand versions did this, something I would believe more than sony making official ones, makes the job just become swap, plug & play. Especially since I don't have a soldering Station yet, nor do I have confidence I could handle small electrical components

Don't you need to add a 5.1kohm resistor to CC1 and CC2? Otherwise damage could be caused with a fast charger power supply.

How did you secure the port to the controller shell?

I did something like that but using a smartphone female port, was a little nightmare but works on my PC and charge just like it did whit the micro USB but it doesn't connect through OTG with an Android phone only wireless. I'm still working on that but thanks to your video I'm going to prepare a video showing what I did.

Considering that type C has the pins, what leg on the type C connector would you need to Solder to, to get Mode select, or is that just unused?

hello i broke my ribbon cable. im unwilling to get a new ribbon cable, is there a way i can directly solder a 4-pin usb to it? using ds4 as a completely wired controller?
