PS4 Controller USB-C Mod!

This video is dedicated to Araldite.

The hardest part of this process was filing the right amount out of the hole in the case without going too far. Remove a little at a time with the needle files and regularly check with the USB-C board. A snug fit will fix in place much more securely than a loose one.

Also the wiring of the port is obviously important, and I had to redo it several times. Luckily I didn't do any damage. Check the micro USB pinouts online and make sure you get it right.

Great work, thinking of doing this myself.

For removing ports like the micro USB port a hot-air station does wonders. Add some extra solder to the anchor points, heat the connector up with the hot air, and pull up on the port when the solder melts.

Really neat, I wish I can do that with my Dualshock days of play edition but it's to much of a hassle so better I'm leaving it to the professionals, nice video man.

This board appears to be missing 2 0402 size resistors that they decided to jump using solder instead so be careful on what u use these for. clean looking mod mod, a friend showed me your video so thought i'd mention the resistors.

The problem with this was the LED light, since its not on the proper position it wont lit the triangle thingy and the part on the touchpad. I just opened up a ds4 because i want to dim more the led light with some tape. So i just realized this light thing

Hey, I'm currently doing this exact something, I was wondering if you could provide some information on the pinout on the ps4 board as its the same board yoy have (JDS-055), it will help me finish this myself.

I got my own lazy idea i might test. Just get a tiny convertor and stick it inside with the original micro usb still attached.

This migth be a dumb question but does its upgrade make it more adaptable with fast charging or do you still have to give it a normal charge even with the USB-C?

I'm gonna do this cause I hate the crappy chargers having to be at a specific angle to just barely work then have to wait like 2 hours to charge it cause it's getting a poor connection I've already got the wires ready and the 2 controllers modified just gotta wait for the USB-C boards to come in
