The filmmakers being able to translate the sort of hilarious absurdities that often come up in sessions, into film, is what I think will make this film a hit. At least with the D&D playing crowd haha.

It seems like exactly what I wanted: chock-full of spells, creatures and characters but with the sort of 'we'll make the plan up as we go' comedy that always emerges from my D&D campaigns and one-shots. Like one big ad for the ridiculousness that could await you if you joined a campaign, provided the DM isn't allergic to fun.

Just got home after the pre release in my country, gosh we were laughing so much, the absurdity and charm made it the most fun I've had going to the cinema in awhile.
Went with my DnD friends and so much of the movie was memorable. I won't spoil because its way more fun to see it yourself. (I went in blind and am so happy I did.)

I went into the cinema expecting it to be over the top silly and a bit cringey but I was not expecting to laugh, cry, get scared and have so many other emotions
It was fantastically done and it never felt like they were over explaining

I just got home from watching the movie and I can say the movie pretty enjoyable. the lore faithful, the interaction not overly forced funny and pretty balanced, the cast get great bond in this movie. I can't say about other people's but i certainly enjoy this movie 👌☺️

The directors also wrote Spiderman Homecoming which I liked. I saw it last night with a packed crowd. I audibly heard people laughing throughout this film and some were clapping, hooting and hollering when the credits rolled in which is a theater EXPERIENCE HARDLY EVER GET even for the big comic book and action movies. I have never played D and d ever before and I still enjoyed it and the audience I saw it with ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and ya it's a huge recommendation for everyone to watch with your entire family. Please guys don't let this flop like Shazam 2 did. This movie really deserves sequels.
