You can tell the creators have played D&D a few times. That Speak With Dead scene was hilariously accurate.

As a long time AD&D player, this actually looks interesting. The speak with dead spell scene was accurate. Cool to see the displacer beast and the owlbear. Did they dive INTO a gelatinous cube?

SPOILER FREE REVIEW: just saw the film today for the Prime early release. It was a great film. The characters, the story etc. I felt the movie was not too long, I felt it was just right. The pacing was fantastic, along with the little details, dropped like cookie crumbs, but not slowing down the pacing. Heart was a prominent theme and it felt as is you wanted to root for the protagonist(s) the entire time. As a resident fan of D&D, the Johns got it right! There was plenty of little details that were spot on to the game, but never once overshadowed the story and pacing of the film. I was smitten for 2 hours and twenty minutes. A huge home run for me. Seeing it again in theaters on April 6th!
