The fact that Matt started this episode saying beavers can build infinitely down and didn’t build platforms over the water to build down for the cap on the poo

Matt, if you want to easily build the up down power shaft, press the button beneath the work time, it will cut off the build layer from the view. Right now it's at ∞ mode, no cut off, when you press the down arrow once, it will cut off anything from the top layer

8:18 ironically, I'm watching this on a Friday afternoon procrastinating from work 😅

14:00 The order the beavers build things in is actually very straightforward. So when you're placing down buildings, that puts them in a first in first out queue, and when you change it's priority, you switch it to a different queue, but it retains it's position. Beavers will supply building materials to the first placed highest priority building they can, and barring that, will start working on the second priority queue, then the third, fourth, and finally fifth. If you ensure your build order is from furthest to closest, it'll help prevent beavers from getting stuck as often.

As a Jobsite superintendent (American), yes, general contractors do the sequencing of the building, as well as find all the architect’s failures, and attempt to engineer a solution to whatever silly problem was ambiguously scribbled on the print

3:37 oh, so you remember that they can buld down infinitely... so... why won't you build scaffolding in poocano instead of stairs?🤔 unless you actually want to have another InCiDeNt 😂

Man that wasn’t the intro I was expecting but it was amazing. 😂

As an electrical designer, I can confirm that my job is literally "take the consultant's drawings and figure out how to make it buildable". And then cry when it's halfway completed and we get a slew of changes because there's only so much future proofing you can do and still stay in budget, so back to the drawing board we go.

To solve your problem building inside the tower, you can switch through the levels by decreasing the "infintiy" in the upper right corner (right underneath the working time). That way you can hide level by level and see inside your tower.

You didn't/don't need to go to 'Experimental 6' to make this an easier project. Once you had the tower built and batteries on top you could have created an external 'staircase' of power connectors without needing stairs.
You already have the stairs of the tower; all you had to do was build an ascending cross-back of power connections that could be built from the stairs of the battery tower, allowing for more than one-at-a-time building of the connectors.
I'm visualizing it like an external fire escape stairs, but made up of only supports and power pieces; no stairs necessary. (they're already in the tower)
The current shenanigans puts me to mind of an architect. ;)

cheers Matt

Please read Matt!

Top right, under hide water there is 2 arrows, click the down arrow a few times, it will hide buildings above that height, it is very useful for building things like your power tower. To change it back to default view after, you can either click the up arrow, or there will be a new button appear that will reset it to default build height.

Large waterwheels: are 2 blocks wide.

Matt: makes his aqueduct an odd width

For the tower, there is a layer view button next to the working hours button that I discovered recently. It'll have the infinity symbol in its current mode.

bro. this is not an aqueduct. It's simply a canal. An aqueduct is a water-bearing bridge

when a beaver becomes stranded, they leave any district that they're part of, so they're not part of any district.
when you then save them, they join the closest district, which is often the one that you haven't actually set up.

19:00 Matt just found out why contractors dont really like engineers, when they tell us how to build it but they have no idea what order 😂

18:45 rce worked as an architect. That explains the hatred

26:52 don't forget you can use the up and down arrows just below the beaver working hours (top right of the screen) to adjust the height of the element you wish to be watching highest. And when you activate it by doing so, you can deactivate easily with a button that will appear as soon as you start messing with it.
