Why I Love STALKER Games

Over the past couple of days I have been playing Stalker games a lot again and I wanted to share why I like this franchise so much.

I still remember an article in Gamestar (I think), in which they compared "the holy trinity" of upcoming FPS shooters: S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Half-Life 2 and Doom 3

I remember playing SoC and not knowing in what kind of game I was, because yes, it's a shooter, a survival in an irradiated zone full of mutants, but also had some paranormal things, some myths or legends, things with no sense. So, that enigmatic atmosphere pushed me through the zone to get the answers to all this.
Then, Call of Prypiat, the game I enjoy the most, full of exploration, mystery, history, challenges, and always with the same old good atmosphere.
Finally, the mods. I just play a few, because after trying Dead Air, I just jump into Anomaly and that mod it's the best sandbox mod out there. Scavenging, trespassing, and killing just for surviving one more day, a true stalker experience

Best part of stalker is smoking a rare and expensive cigar during the dawning Sun with the signature clouds early in the morning before entering Pripyat - Misery Mod in Stalker Call of Pripyat. My Top 3 games of all time. I remember taking a shitload of can food to Pripyat worth thousands of roubles.

I never played he original stalker, but I am about to start Anomaly and I am so excited!!!

First... because they are Slavic and therefore they have this homey feeling that you don't get from games from non-Slavic countries. And second... because they are a damn good games, all three of them.

I really hope the multiplayer/coop aspects of game for Stalker 2 are not their main priorities like most games today, If they handle it the same way wasteland 3 handled their coop itd be amazing

You pretty much nailed it. I dont have time to game much so when I do it's to get away and lost in whatever I'm playing. Few games ever do that and stalker is far and away the best at it. I pray that stalker 2 isnt some kind of on line only open play game

STALKER still has the most dynamic open world ever created maybe along with Red dead 2, A-life simulation is truly impressive even though we never got see it's true potential because of lack of funding

Amazing atmosphere, music... Just a fantasric game SoC is. (I have yet to play the other 2 games). For mods just get the community fixes I believe it was called ZRP (zone reclamation project) and a few of those graphical mods for better textures, at least thats what I did a few years ago.

Great to see LKM's passion. I love survival horror games. The thrills and danger of what lies behind that corner in darkness. Stalker sounds interesting. Will give it a shot. Resident Evil is my favorite survival horror game series but will broaden my horizons. LKM is Ryan Gosling's son. 😋

So excited for Stalker 2 words cannot describe!! I can't wait to play a stalker game in an updated engine with a massive detailed open world. Its gonna be epic.

How do you feel about the dialogue with NPC's? Do you think they will keep it like the old style with words popping up on the screen or will there be actual animations when npc's talk? I was thinking about it the other day because the original way is kind of part of Stalkers charm. I dont need it but I was just wondering on if people think they will try to update that or keep it the old way.

Playing precisely right now my first S.T.A.L.K.E.R (I just go with Pripyat with mods... because of visuals u know :S) and it's absolutely mindblowing, I just feel FEAR, real FEAR in a videogame in certain situations... the atmosphere it's just ridicolously well done despite is a game 10 years old... looking forward for the sequel... with a lot of hype.

Can I see the video without spoil me anything? Maybe I'll try Call of Chernobyl and the other one after Pripyat.

One of the best mods for stalker and best story mod overall is Spatial anomaly. If you enjoy original games i cant recommend it enoug.
