Stand in front of a box or bench with your hands at your sides and your palms facing in. Hold a pair of dumbbells and place your left foot on a box or bench. Press through your left heel and step up, lifting yourself onto the box or bench, ending with both feet on the box or bench. Step off the box or bench and return to the starting position before switching legs.

This is just cardio if you're doing it the way he demonstrates, a key point of the exercise is your supposed to lift yourself onto the box, not kick off with the back foot like he does. That's also why you alternate legs during sets not during reps. Easy Que to fix this is for starters begin with your non dominant leg, do as many reps as you can (with good form, you can really mess yourself up if you get sloppy doing balance work with weights/heights) then switch to dominant once rested for next set and limit yourself the same amount of reps your non dominant side was able to do (this prevents the muscle imbalance), also toe touch at bottom instead of landing on your heels, that'll slow the eccentric (lowering yourself is half the exercise) and prevent you from cheating with a kicking off on the concentric. spoilers you're going to have to use less ego, aka less weight or lower box height since doing the exercise properly is harder.
