2024 Acura TLX Type S review by The Straight Pipes. The Acura TLX Type S is putting down 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque from a 3L Turbo V6. At $64,250 CAD, would you take it over the Genesis G70, Kia Stinger, BMW M340i, Mercedes-AMG C43, Audi S4?

Don’t think we didn’t notice the lovely new camera angles and crisper edits… 🔥🔥🔥

I was fortunate enough to pick one up when they were first introduced in 2021. The build quality far exceeded my expectations; I have yet to experience any squeaks or rattles at 25k miles. Ride comfort is supremely good, it's insulated in a way that makes the ELS sound system that much better, and in general, it's a fantastic GT car. However, switching to Sport+ mode gives me plenty of smiles whenever i find myself on a twisty backroad... and that V6 + active exhaust combo is music to my ears. 🎶

I absolutely love this car. Everyone wants to compare and complain. Let it be what it is. A reliable good looking sports car from the Honda/ Acura brand

Food for thought: the Acura TL type S from 2007-2008 had about the same power to weight ratio with nearly 50% more mpg... And it came in manual.

It sounds better than the current C63 hybrid. Good job Mercedes..
Happy Birthday Jakub as well? 🥳🥳🥳

That civic hitting rev limiter effect was on point. Keep it up!

I love the looks of the TLX, and the updated tech is nice, however for the price I would never buy one new. Like the IS, this will be a great used car in a few years.

I picked up a Type S in June, had to fly to Phoenix to find one at MSRP, it’s not the fastest, but it still has plenty of power, handles great, and looks great. It’s a excellent value proposition at MSRP. I think like other type s models in the past, this will gain popularity with time on the used market where the Honda reliability plus decent performance will become appealing to many.

Still think this is one of the best looking ( exterior wise ) luxury cars for that price range on sale today

Being the very small majority who takes thier Type-S to the track; I absolutely love this car, although it is no where near perfect, suspesion, wheels, tires, and a tune with an exhaust wakes this car up so much. Stock the platform is great on street although I really prefer the physical gages on the pre refresh. Thanks for the great review guys!

Ahh the TLX, exterior sized like an accord but has less interior space than a civic... Also in the era of the mythical B58 nothing holds a candle in this segment.

I’ve had my TLX Type S for a few months now and feel the exactly same way. I even overlooked this car for the past few years but one I drove it, I had to have it and it doesn’t disappoint one bit as my daily. I think this will be just as vintage as the original in 15-20 years

I would have to add fog lights. It's robbery without them. Such a sleek looking car.

1:50 "I love driving this alot." is honestly all you really need to know.

As a previous red TLX Type-S owner, I like the new facelift version, it brings all the good gadgets from MDX. But I think Acura has forgotten something, where's the red one?

I bought a '23 Type S last March. At the time, I had narrowed my considerations down to it and the G70, and decided I was willing to give up the 360 camera, digital gauges, wireless PhoneClone, etc, for the much better feeling front-end and, in my opinion, vastly superior looks

Then Acura goes and releases a refresh with literally all of those things 😅

(also, maybe there was a quiet refresh between your original review and buying my car, but I've always been able to set the ambient lighting to colors other than red)

I own this car in '23 model and agree it is underrated. Overall, it's a great daily driver with some fun, dynamic sports car feel! It is a little too heavy and it could use 50 more hp but as you all said, it is a "cool" car that is very well built, drives incredibly well and has one of the best suspensions in the class as well as one of the best stereos in any car! I love the look of the car and the fact that it is a Type S and I don't see many on the road like I do BMW's. There are cars that outperform it but I still really like the car for what it is and as a commuter on the highway, this car drives great! It is an excellent value for what you get with this car and if you can buy/lease at a good price, this is a very solid choice in the sport sedan segment!

The infamous civic rev limit bounce for the intro was pure gold 😂
