2024 Acura TLX Type S FULL Review /// The Refreshed Japanese M340i

The 2024 TLX Type-S remains a well rounded luxury performance sedan, but is it any better with this update? I spent a week testing just that, and the new Sport+ mode tuning, new digital cluster, and enhanced interior all are welcome (and noticeable) changes. Highs:
+ The new Sport + mode retuning is definitely noticeable with faster throttle response, strong grip, and a ever clever true torque vectoring SH-AWD system.
+ The exhaust has a raw note, especially outside.
+The digital cluster is quick, crisp, and elevates the interior. (As does the sweet ambient light and ELS studio 3D audio system)

Lows:
-The back seats are smaller than the Integra.
-Acura still makes you use their touchpad interface and you can’t expand CarPlay to the entire display….
-It’s quick, but 400HP would be nice and easy to achieve, and better to separate from Integra Type-S.

8/10 - I really enjoyed the ’24 TLX Type-S. Heck, I would consider one as a daily, as long as I don’t plan on hauling people around in the rear…. Or If a m340 pulls up next to me….

Everyone who drives this car knows how special it is. Double wishbone, standard adaptive suspension, TVD AWD, refinement of that DOHC v6 with the twin scroll. It's amazing and will last.

Hell of a car. Absolutely stunning and looks better than all cars in this class, and by a wide margin. This car is incredibly smooth and comfortable for cruising and becomes aggressive and rigid with the flip of a switch. It handles far better than any car this heavy should handle. The AWD is absolutely phenomenal and when this car is pushed to the limits, SH-AWD will wow you make you thankful you're still alive.. and one thing they nailed is the sound of this car. The exhaust note is phenomenal with the OEM exhaust I've learned to like the touch pad which is one of the few knocks on the car. Of course the back seat could be bigger.. but I'm single with no kids. Nobody sits in the back anyways so it's a non issue. This a beautifully engineered car and is so well rounded. If it were a little lighter it would do wonders on the acceleration and braking front. That's the one desire I would have is for weight reduction/ bigger brakes in the rear. Comparison is the thief of joy... the m340i is a great car and certainly is easier to get more power out of. If all you want is power then get the bim. If you value a capable AWD system, the look of your car, better warranties, saving money, and comfort. Look at the Type S.. especially a low mileage pre-owened example. You won't regret it.

Benefits to being only 5'7 is cars are more practical. This back seat is zero issue since I don't need it too far back, so it gives the rear passengers more space

Dude, you became one with that car, I know exactly how you felt. That is the best sporty sedan in the world and there is nothing like it and you felt it and became integrated with the car. Get one somehow if you can, because you will not get a chance to do it in 5 or 10 years and you know why. Awesome review, do every review like this, don't just review cars, don't try to sell the car, try to transmit the feel of the car to the viewer, even if you don't like it, get people to feel your impression, to feel what you feel.

Overall, i prefer the M340i but this is still a great, fun and reliable sports sedan that can also be a great daily driver. I just personally think that it needs like 90 more horsepower and an infotainment system fix and it's good to go.

It's nice, but you know the gear head community or honda fans want a platform they can add to, or tune and get more powwaa !! Also in my humble opinion I wish they could make a Rear wheel OPTION for the ones who want to drift and do donuts, and option along your all wheel drive and front wheel drive as well, I had a 2007 TL back then and I loved it but it was a love hate

I love this car, wish it had more space in the backseats and I felt that acura can push the tlx to be 380hp to 400hp since the nsx is discontinued.
