This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2024 Acura TLX Type S mid-size luxury, sport sedan. The 2024 Acura TLX Type S is one of those cars that you park and turn to look back and admire. We think it’s a great looking sedan with its long hood, wide stance and sleek lines.
The 2024 Acura TLX Type S has a 3L turbocharged V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission, 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Standard AWD and premium fuel is recommended.
There is just one 2024 Acura TLX Type S trim in Canada and the US so it makes things easy, it comes fully loaded. It comes standard with a 12.3” display with True Touchpad Interface and Amazon Alexa, a 12.3” digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless charger, surround view camera, a 17-speaker ELS Studio 3D sound system, heated flat bottom steering wheel, sport seats with perforated leather with Ultrasuede inserts, 16-way power heated and ventilated front seats with lumbar support, driver seat memory and a moonroof.
In the US, a heated steering wheel is not standard but can be added for $510. Surprisingly the TLX does not have heated rear seats, the Acura Integra does have this feature.
The 2024 Acura TLX Type Sis $66,478 CAD/$57,000 USD. At first glance it seems pricey but it is fully loaded and other competitors may have some extra add-ons or packages to get all these features.
Fuel economy, the 2024 Acura TLX Type S gets 12.3L/100 km, 19 MPG city and 9.8L/100 km, 24 MPG highway.

Gorgeous. One of their best looking products. The only miss (in my opinion) is that centre console with that giant button. Thanks for the video.

I have a 23 TLX Type S and I’ll be the first to admit; it’s no M340i or anything like that. It absolutely has its negative for example, should’ve weighed less, def at least 380HP and even all around BREMBO. However, no car is perfect and many cars has its negative. This is an awesome all around car and still competes really well. I’m paying $750/mo and anything better, I’ll be paying close to $1k. Beautiful looking car and it’ll look amazing for a very long time. No regrets.

I subscribed to your channel two cars ago and I always enjoy them. I must admit I usually don't stick to the end so this was my first time seeing your new outro graphics. Looks awesome! You guys refresh your channel more than most auto makers.

I am so glad you guys are comparing this car to the Cadillac. It's such a big Miss by all the other reviewers because the TLX and the Cadillac ct5 are very competitive against each other.

Nice look at the Type S. I don't know why some new car reviews can trigger a feeling of nostalgia.

I have owned a 2009 Acura TSX Technology, my wife currently has a 2016 RDX AWD Advance and I have a 2019 TLX V6 Technology…. I love the reliability, styling and quality. Driving the TLX and RDx are a blast, very sporty. I now easily use to the push button transmission selector. I’m just waiting now for the 2025 TLX TypeS to have the updated infotainment, which I would move to in maybe 2026 or 27. Thanks for the awesome content.

I'm driving M3 G80CX currently, but I gotta say the TLX Type S are so beautiful and seem like a great value. Looks like a amazing daily and perfect spec. Great review!

Oh yes really looking forward to this video and Zack was genuinely scared. Great red accented interior but amased there's no heated steering wheel as standard. Looks fab though externally 🎉

While My B9 Audi S4 gets better MPGs than this TLX Type S, I like that Acura gives you a flat bottom heated steering wheel. I had to choose one or the other so naturally, I chose the Flat bottom steering wheel. The TLX Type S sure is a looker too. Great video, Zack and Andrea.

BMW’s M lines are quite reliable but you are paying much more along with maintenance costs. You get so many more amenities with the Acura TLX Type S for cheaper, and it holds value. BMW cars undergo insane price depreciation per year.

Mark from Savagegeese said the more he drove the Acura MDX Type S, the more he got buyer’s remorse with his BMW X7. Japanese cars just age like fine wine.

Nonetheless, both BMW m340i and Acura TLX Type S are great for daily/sporty driving and comfort.

Wow that is amazing acceleration for a daily driven car. I love it unfortunately we do not get Acura in the middle east
The accord has a 2.0 L turbo which is not close to this Acura

We ran an Acura TLX Type S against the Cadillac team CT4 and CT5 Blackwing at the 2022 One Lap of America and all 3 cars were so tight. CT5 Blackwing won by 30 points over our TLX Type S and the CT4 Blackwing was 5 points behind us. The TLX Type S strong point is the SH AWD torque vectoring.

Always a Must Like 👍🏼 for Acura from me due to comfort, quality, reliability and speed. Best model was 2006 Luxury mix with sport and comfort. And they are trying to capture same essence. This is a class in its own for price point as daily driver. Acura mistakenly compare to similar sedans. They shouldn’t. It’s in it own type with best for the money
