You Should Be TERRIFIED To Fight This Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Enemy - Gen'Dai Explained

I'm pretty sure one of the new enemies revealed in the latest Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trailer is a Gen'Dai. Like the bounty hunter Durge. They were a nearly indestructible species, and I think it's a perfect character for a video game boss fight. Here is why we should be VERY scared of him!

If this guy is a Gen'Dai, and the Dark Jedi character is from the High Republic, this could be them reuniting after 200 years

The idea of fighting one of these guys is so cool. Durge was so intimidating in the Clone Wars Micro Shorts, and fighting one of his species would be I imagine really difficult and would lead to some Metroid Dread esque moments of repeating patterns and dying.

I would love to see Cal fight other obscure enemies, like the Emperor's Shadow Guards!

Having recently played SWTOR, this guy stood out to me. As soon as I saw him, I yelled "Is that a freaking Gen'Dai!?!". His resemblance to the species is just too striking to ignore and it would be awesome to have to fight a member of that species in the game.

However, I will say that the MMO does the species more justice than you think, some enemies can be pretty difficult to take down and Gen'Dai are definitely sturdier than most. But then again, it is a very different style of game so they have to balance it differently than Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor so it's not really something that can be criticised too much.

I feel another way of killing the species is the same way the Hunter was killed in Dead Space putting him behind a ships engine completely vaporizing them

That character definitely looks like a Gen'Dai.
However not all of them are like Durge. From what I remember Gen'Dai are mostly peaceful and Durge was tortured for a long time by Mandalorians which also didn't help his sanity.
If that white skined Jedi and possibly main antagonist of the game is really from High Republic, then it's very well possible that his Gen'Dai was his old friend.

I haven’t played too much of Fallen Order or seen the new game trailer, but the idea of a Gen’Dai boss sounds absolutely amazing. The shapeshifting abilities with their bodies, plus the humanoid form to wield guns or blades at the same time, would make for a memorable battle or Souls-type fight.

And hey, maybe we could see a resurgence of Dirge in future shows or movies. I think that a Gen’Dai would be a hellish but satisfying foe for Din, Boba, or even Kylo Ren.

Here after reading a recent article by IGN. Yes, that huge alien in Jedi Survivor is a Gen’ Dai. It also mentions that Durge was active in the Clone Wars, fighting for the CIS like in the Legends timeline. Yeah, now I’m excited and horrified.

I am more hyped for Cal being on the empires Most Wanted list (at least according to Cere.) That would make for some interesting and very extreme methods of fighting him since they have to bring out all the gods in the shop to face him. J.

Durge was suppose to be in the clone wars but Lucasfilm was unable to replica the shapeshifting abilities so they replaced him with Cad Bane.

Durge was terrifying in the Clone Wars micro series. The thought of fighting one of his kind in Jedi Survivor makes me dread the encounter

If he's lived for hundreds of years whilst his friend has been trapped in the bacta for ages!

The design also reminds me of Vilgax from Ben 10, who is also super strong and difficult to kill.

If he is a Gen'Dai it could bring something fresh to star wars games, it would feel like the obi-wan vs. durge fights in the micro series and comics.
