If you see this, I just wanted to say thank you for the video. I'm a native speaker, but the IPA transcription of this word was confusing me, as even though its written that the E is pronounced /ɪ/, I was very sure that everyone I've heard pronounces it /i/.

I am having great difficulty in pronouncing 'English sings.' The last sound of 'English' and the first sound of 'songs' make it a bit difficult.
I would be really grareful if you could teach me how to get it right.

Hello Rachel, I love your video. Exactly what I need. How would you pronounce "Here they are " ? I can easily say "Here I am" "here you are", "here we are", but with "here they are" my tongue, my throat and my jaw are forming a strange sound "hee eeuh zey ahhhr" ....

the two vowels are completely different. the first vowel should be transcribed with the i (the eeee sound, not the short i sound).
