How I got here…

21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.

Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).

To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.

You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

It’s crazy even as a software founder of a few saas startups I didn’t even consider that it might be the headline or image and just kept on spinning my wheels with the product features, you the man Alex 🙏🏼

You're absolutely right, most of my old clients wanted to change almost every aspect of their business for just a hunch, some things were good but optimization was complicated since we did not have a trustable control version.

If you do 1% improvements always, that compounds tremendously in the long term.

This gives dispproportionate returns (very easy to do and very high returns)

100% agree on CRO optimisation. The company I work for has a...less than ideal website. I did the numbers based on average impressions across social and average landing page form completions and the numbers we need to hit impression wise to drive marketing conversions and get qualified prospects into the sales departments pipelines are horrendous.

Linkedin lead gen forms are a decent way to bypass this weakness, but ideally I would like the powers that be to just pull the trigger on a website overhaul.

Great information here ! 👍👍 I have a little stuck in my brand to understand the logic, when I have only a one page landing page how I rank this thing in the serps? Do you combine your landing page with a blog or do you positng on external platforms?

How many clicks/landing page views before you "know" which one is winning? 100? 1000? More?

Isn't a week too short to test? I mean, you do need a lot of traffic and a very stable environment to get statistically significant results.

Thank you for this valuable content. Do you only split test one out of the three elements (headline, sub headline, image) per week, right ?
Let's say: week 1 you split test the headline week 2 you split test the sub headline week 3 the image ?
And then week 4 back to the headline again? Thank you for taking the time to answer and clarify

Seems like common sense to me. But, I explained to dozens of elderly people why they lost leads and traffic during the mobilegeddon circa 2015. I was learning an SEO buisness as a side hustle then and that was demoralizing to say the least. Talk about unhappy customers. Then I left for another deployment anyway, thanks google!😅😅😅
