►If you're in the market for a P3 Volvo S60 or V60, knowing what to look out for before buying is only one part of the whole process. Knowing what a car is like to live with is one of the most difficult things to judge because it can't be answered in a twenty-minute test drive.

Come along for a ride as Adam Goral, FCP Euro's Volvo Catalog Manager, and Jacob Maller, FCP Euro's resident Volvo enthusiast, take a drive in Adam's very own P3 Volvo V60. Jacob and Adam discuss their car buying process, issues this particular V60 has had, annoyances, and simply what it's like to daily drive a Volvo P3.

Beechwood probably refers to wood from the beech tree, rather than driftwood found on a beach.

The blower motor can be fixed in about five minutes with a spritz of lubricant from the cowl side under the wipers. Look it up, many instructions on YouTube and elsewhere. Lasts for years, then redo.

Had an V60 D6 2015 a few years, gave me a lot of joy and 6000 miles(metric) in 3 years before I sold it for a Cupra. Love the comfort in the seat´s, handling and the space when 4 people travels threw Europe.

These seats are amazing but previous generation had also very comfortable seats- loved these semi leather- in my opinion you can complain about some thing in Volvo cars but you can't say bad word about seats. I do trips 423 miles long every month without any stops and I leave a car without any pain.
There is one thing to S60/V60 worth noting, driving position is quite high so if you like to sit closer to the ground like in BMW then you can be disappointed about how low you can go.

I have ocean race package with 18" rims and I also went for standard profile tyres and changed to 235/45R18 XL. So for anyone wondering if they can fit I have none problems. I also had problem with bent rims but it might because of low profile tyres or how previous owner driven.

Just bought a p3 s60 on November 2021, it's excellent. Glad to see this video come out though.

Got the 2012 V60 T6 here in Aus, over 200k kms on the clock, going strong, only issue had to replace an alternator. Can attest the suspension feels so stiff on the 19s, have buckled a rim going over a pothole!

Great video! I have a red V60 T4F from 2014. Main reason i bought it was because it looks really good and fairly aggressive/sporty too but nothing too much, while it also being a very safe car.
It’s a really great and smooth car to drive, just hope I’ll have a fairly troublefree ownership haha!

Is there anyone in the comments here who have owned a p3 v70 and a v60 that could tell me how they compare in terms of comfort (like road bumps, noise etc..) and driveability, id imagine the v60 feels more sportier.
I currently own a 2012 xc60 with the d3 twin turbo engine and it is an absolute riot to drive since it also has a stage 2 tune but it is by far the most uncomfortable ride of all the volvos ive owned, every single imperfection let alone bump in the road really "rackets" the car about, in comparison to the 2011 s80 i had the chance to drive for about 10 minutes, that thing absorbed bumps without issue and barely had any road noise with 17" wheels.

Id like to get a p3 v70 next but im also eyeing the v60 since it's a tad smaller and i live alone so the v70 would be a bit needlessly large but if the v70 is as premium feeling as the p2 gen v70 then id be inclined to go with that. My xc60 feels like a tin can when closing the doors, it has that ugly echoey sound to it which the p2 v70 didnt.

I bought a CPO 2015.5 V60 T5 Cross Country just over 2 years ago to replace my '07 SAAB 9-5 SportCombi. I love the V60 but I miss my Saab and will get another 9-5 as a weekend car one day. I got the Cross Country because I wanted the extra ride height and thought the grill was more aesthetic. The legacy 5 cylinder engine was a must as well & MPG wasn't a big deal stepping out of a 9-5. I average 23+ MPG though my husband can achieve over 25 MPG when he drives it loll LOVE how the engine sounds on a cold start and love it almost as much as the 2.3T 4 cylinder in my Saab. Only had a few issues replaced under warranty, gears stripped in drivers side mirror - wouldn't fold in/out, EVAP leak detection pump assembly, & the backlit window switches in drivers door started to go dark button by button until the whole unit would no longer be illuminated at night. Just discovered the height adjustable passenger side seat belt will no longer go up or down & need to get it looked at before my warranty expires in June. Just replaced my tires with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 and love them so far! It is hard to keep this car under 90 MPH on the highway!! I plan on keeping this car for a very long time. My husband custom ordered a XC60 B5 AWD with wool seats and Bowers & Wilkins audio. It should be here any week now!! My next car will be a Polestar??

2016 V60 T5 premier. Bought last year, put over 25K miles on it and besides oil changes virtually zero maintenance (and I look out for issues). This is a very comfortable, reasonably fast and nice-looking car. I hope I don't jinx myself by saying all that, but sincerely I'm very happy with this car so far.

The auto reverse function works very well, but is quite unnerving to use at first. My wife hates it and refuses to use it. 😉 She says the reversing camera does just fine.

I have the same car, except that it's dark gray and has light colored leather, with the performance suspension. I love it. It feels the same at 120 mph as it does at 60 mph so I have to remember to use that cruise control. Best mileage I've seen on a tank is 39 mpg, but with my lead foot I average 35 mpg.

I thought the P3 piston issue was resolved around 2011 and not 12, 13 …..? Was that non turbo 3.2?

Love the video. I have the same exact car. I had my ECU modded to stage 1 by Hilton. The car screams now like an R design.

Good walkthrough of the V60. Found a base model 2016 (only option is keyless start) with 19k. Was curious to see if I was missing out on other options and it sounds like even with the better suspension and wheels you have to live with a harsher ride. I personally think the base 17s with the stock suspension is already a bit on the firm side, but I’m just used to floaty cars!

We have a p80, p1 (1st and 2nd gen), p2 and a p3. Our p3 will go into a sort of limp mode randomly, it shifts through all the gears it’s just sluggish and surgy with no boost. Restart and it is perfect again. Under no certain circumstances. No codes in any of the modules. Have y’all heard about this?

I have a 2013 V60 D3 Teknik, 5 cylinder diesel that produces 160Hp and 400nm torque, came with 17" x 8" wheels with 235/45 Michelin tyres.
I have 78, 000 Miles on the clock and I replaced the timing belt and water pump at the 75, 000 mile mark.
No other problems with the car considering its 11 years old.
