I have a volvo s80 2007 2.5t, same color. Everything is so smooth with this car, no issues at all in 2 years.

Non functioning windows might be caused by wire breaks just inside the car body, there is a tie wrap there that tends to break the cable insulation. To reach it, you have to take off the door, pull the wire cover out of the car body and examine the strands behind it. Replace the cable tie for tape and you should be good.

Water pumps rarely fail especially on the D5. Its the Aux belt tensioner that fails and kills the engine when the aux belt wraps around the botton crank. Not all have adjustable 4c suspension.

Along with the upper torque mount that you can easily do yourself, there are a few other motor mounts that are likely to degrade just as quick as the upper one, and unfortunately they are not nearly as accessible. You'll know when they need replacing so I'd just wait for the clunks to start rather than having a mechanic do it preemptively. But if the upper one looks bad, go ahead and do it yourself like DL suggests. Will take 10 mins

I love my 2009 S80 V8 Executive. I live over the in the states and it’s amazing for long highway stints. The V8s do have there quirks though. Engine mounts are fun🙄. My 2010 XC70 3.2 is flawless. Both cars have amazing interiors for there age.

Volvo does offer updated CDs for the Navigation. I bought the updated ones for both cars.

Im in such a pickle.
My neighbour has pretty much a carbon copy of your S80. a D5 twin turbo too and he really wants to sell it to me or my father for cheap since we've always been on great terms, he's such a nice guy and he takes extremely good care of his cars *BUT* .
I just recently got a mk2 v70 facelift and already fitted it with an aftermarket stereo, new speakers, full cleanup of the car and it IS a wagon which makes it very practical although i rarely have that much cargo with me to justify having one, it's just a neat convenience.

But im really really curious about the S80 if i should just go for it or not...one thing which bugs me is the front bumper, i preferr the latest model that came out with the flat horizontal grille that went all the way over the bumper, do you or does someone here know if the bumpers are interchangeable?

The 0W30 is maybe good if You drive in heavy winter conditions. I changed to Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 5W40 and replace it every 15.000 km.

I would avoid the 1.6 Diesel, the 2.0 is okay but the D5 is the best to aim at. It's cool to get one with AWD (Haldex) but You'll geta new thing to break down 🤣
PS. The RTI is crap, I have it but it's pointless. :D

Although you say the water pump should be changed Volvo insist this is not a serviceable item and should only be replaced if faulty.

I'm very tempted by one of these, they seem to be owned by sensible people who stick to servicing schedules.
My brother recently got an S60 on a 55 plate, only 43k on the clock, that 5 cylinder noise is lovely.
