Conservation of Momentum In Two Dimensions - 2D Elastic & Inelastic Collisions - Physics Problems

Показать описание
This physics video tutorial explains how to solve conservation of momentum in two dimension physics problems. The total momentum in the x direction and in the y direction must be conserved separately. Inelastic Collisions occur when momentum is conserved when kinetic energy is not conserved especially in the case when two objects stick together after a collision. Elastic collisions occur when both momentum and kinetic energy are conserved. Objects bouncing off each other usually occur during an elastic collision.

Pretty sure I'm gonna have to scribble in "Brought to you by the Organic Chemistry Tutor" somewhere on my degree.

Are you kidding. It's 1:35 am. My midterm is in 16 hours, and I'm just now remembering that Organic Chem Tutor is how I got through the end of high school. Wow. I really wish I'd remembered this last month. Now, it's time to cram 69 videos.

Hello I have loved your videos ever since I was a little undergrad. I did notice if you take your final velocities and plug them into the kinetic energy formula, energy is gained. Could you explain this?
