There was such a beautiful thread throughout this story about children learning to hate only through their parents. The children themselves weren’t hateful, it was all learned behaviour. There were multiple deleted opportunities to show that the kids were alright, but they were deleted and it’s quite sad.

Draco couldn't bring himself to kill Dumbledore. He made believe that he didn't recognize Harry when the Snatchers captured him, Ron and Hermione. Harry saved his life in the Room of Requirement, so he knew he owed Harry his life. This scene would have given him the redemption he deserved. It's a shame they left it out.

The scene where Draco helps Harry is beautiful, but the one where he chooses to leave with his parents is the most realistic. That's what makes it powerful. It makes you see Draco as an actual human. He was conditioned his entire youth to follow his parents and do as they do. When he finally had the chance to change that, he chose what he knows (follow his parents) than the new and scary alternative (be against them). And this happens a lot in real life. This is why the scene they used in the movie was the best one.
