Black Friday in my little town is like a regular shopping day. The cities around me are a little crazy like someone got shot over a toaster last year. But in my town all of the deals are still there all night and you can get what you wanted and be out in the matter of 10 minutes!

Meh, I've never been much for Black Friday. Doesn't seem right to devote a day to materialism right after we've spent time being thankful, or to make people work all night only to deal with rude people punching you in the face. Getting that excited about deals and material items isn't what the holidays are about. Nevertheless, the monologue still mad me laugh.

I don't go to black friday. I'd rather stay in bed than to be trampled in a Wal-Mart.

Black Friday is kind of cruel. I say that as a retail worker. I have no choice year after year but to go in to work on a holiday that is supposed to be about what you are thankful for. The shift is a minimum of 8 hours (mine is 11) and all of the people are as ready to hurt each other as they are the workers. Not to mention the fact that the discount is usually barely more than you could get normally with a good coupon.

I live in Australia and I've always heard about people lining up outside stores, getting trampled etc etc on Black Friday in America. What much are the items discounted (percentage)? Does it apply to all stores (e.g. is Cartier going to have a Black Friday sale?)? Does it apply to all items in a store?

I don't really shop on Black Friday. It is my day off. Why would I want to get up at 4:00 in the morning to go shopping?

Black Friday is such a stupid holiday. It's basically the opportunity for a bunch of losers to camp out for 3 days, instead of doing anything productive. Like honestly people, you could make the money you are trying to save by not camping out and actually working!

You still get good deals online and you can get your stuff in time for Xmas if you order early enough. Plus, most sites will give you free shipping when you spend the amount you use inside a store on Black Friday. For the people that I know, shopping on Black Friday or just going to the mall on Black Friday is more of a novelty thing just to witness the bat-shit craziness. I can understand if you want a physical store to go back to say if a piece of clothing doesn't fit or if something doesn't work so you can get a refund or exchange the same day, but it's really not worth it.

That one clip where people were rushing into "the Ellen shop" was actually a clip that somebody took of urban outfitters lol😂

I just read about the Black Friday on Wiki as I have never heard of it before. An employee was killed due to the massive trampling of crowd and many others have been injured due to violence. This is horrifying. The U.S. should do something about it.
