Black Friday Sales on Thanksgiving Causes Employee Backlash

That's right! It should be just Thanksgiving and NOT Thanksgiving/Christmas. Black Friday is absurd, why wait out in the cold for a big sale only to get trampled on when the doors open. Besides, stor employees need time off with their families just like everybody else on Thanksgiving!

Food comas on Thanksgiving is like it should be. Out and about not really a GREAT idea. I do hope the stores learn from this. As they HOPEFULLY see that people want to spend Thanksgiving with their families as well as the workers. And its considered Black Friday for a reason, cause its on FRIDAY! NOT THURSDAY! People LOVE to ruin the holidays by having it fly by or doing something like this. LIFE IN THE MOMENT, YOU ONLY GET ONE LIFE!

My store did it for days instead of just one or two best idea ever for the second year in a row. There has been no stress atrocious mobs or crowds whatsoever. I often dreaded this time of year due to my job in the past but this year it is slow and enjoyable for a change.

What my cousins and I do is we eat and celebrate Thanksgiving together and then around 9pm we go to walmart/target for shopping for games or movies. Then Friday we shop like everyone else

For all of you saying cruel things about America here's something I have to say to you. NOT ALL AMERICANS GO OUT FOR BLACK FRIDAY! Some stores close and say we're not opening on holidays. They thinks people should be with their families instead of shopping! I agree with that it's cruel for people to be snooping instead of being with their families. Stop saying all the cruel stuff about Americans because not all agree with going Black Friday shopping!

This is why I think stores should have 'back up' employees that are WILLING to work on holidays, because some people really are alone and have nothing to do on some holidays, and what better way to spend it than helping another person by filling in for them and getting paid in the process. Just for one day.

I'm not on any horse, looking down on anyone. It's an observation.

The point is this. There is nothing wrong with people trying to buy things for their families or even save money. But when you see, oh I don't know, people elbowing old women, fighting, pushing, into stores to buy products because they want to "save" money, it kind of speaks of their character. Taking a business class? You should know that the idea of a "discount", in REALITY, does not exist.
