Only in America would there be a day where we fight each other for useless items right after we just had a day where we were thankful for what we had.

It's so amazing how true greed comes out of people when something is cheap. Pure greed turns to hate. Did you see the hate in that kids eyes when he walked away.

In the name of getting a 'good deal', people turn into rude, aggressive, nasty, grabbing, So much for 'Good Will Towards All'.

Never done Black Friday / Never Will. There's not a single material thing so important to me, that I would put myself into a mob situation.

Spending today baking and making toffee, that will going into gift baskets for friends and the doctors who care for my husband and especially the doctor who saved his life, a few months ago.

Later we'll watch Miracle on 34th Street or maybe It's a Wonderful Obviously, we're dinosaurs. For us,   the joy of the holidays comes in being grateful for what we have and being able to help those we can.  Especially the women and children's crisis shelter and our local no-kill animal shelter.

Life and holidays are what you make of them. For some it's about the material, about the newest whatever For others it's about giving from their heart, trying to help as they can and just enjoying each day.

The one and only time I worked a Black Friday sale at Walmart, I stood aside and let the customers stampede themselves and fight over items when I was supposed to do my job and prevent such things from happening to begin with.
