Bass Chords are way up my alley. But if you are new to chords on bass, start with two notes. That is usually your best option. Now I am a crazy fool and will dare to play three and even four note chords when I am just practicing and having fun. But it does not usually work in a band setting as things can get very muddy. Also make sure to play the notes mid way to high on the neck for the most part as playing certain intervals in the low area of the neck, can sound very very muddy. Also, for the tenths, I use my second finger on the root note and my fourth finger for the major tenth, and my third finger for the minor tenth. And for the picking hand, I use my thumb to pluck the E string, and my second finger to pluck the G string. That is what works for me. But try different combinations of fingerings in both hands and see what works for you. And finally, try playing these tenths at different parts along the string or strings such as over the pickup or pickups, towards the bridge, towards the neck and even over the neck. You'll get different tones doing this. Just some tips for you.

A tenth is a dyad.
A minimum of 3 notes is needed for a chord, a triad.
(2 notes would be called an interval.)

For someone who has only ever played bass it could be an eye opener. I do like these two note sounds for incorporation into baselines. Not sure it would benefit me though as I was a guitar player before I took up bass.

I locked myself in my room 20yrs ago and learned to play by ear. Once a buddy showed me tabs the world was mine. Despite the good instruction all I hear is wah wah wah wah play it like this…. Ah ok I got it. As soon as someone mentions chords I check out. I just need to hear it on repeat and if I see it I see numbers like neo in the matrix. So weird right?

That's useless in most of cases to play this two notes together like chord. Better way would play major 3 or 10 under guitar power chord. For example, bass play C note while guitar play A5.
