If I were to do the same process but use the stock boot.img, am I still able to update and re-root? I have no use to disable encryption.

Hey im looking to update my rooted and my bootloader is already unlocked nexus 6 to 5.0.1 and i don't want to lose my data. I haven't disabled encryption yet but would like too. Would this method be a good idea for me to do both? Update and disable encryption without losing my data?

I followed step by step, everything worked except my phone is still encrypted and I am unable to mount to storage.  And why is TWRP prompting me for a password after I flashed TWRP using your flashify tutorial?

Will this wipe my data though? I know I read somewhere on other sites where you can flash system images and stuff but still keep your data by removing some "-w" code? Does this tutorial already do that?
