How The Promised Neverland Lost Its Way | A Complete Review of TPN's Manga

The Promised Neverland was one of my favourite manga, but boy oh boy did that change. I hoped that I'd enjoy the later parts more upon returning to it but yeah, you read the title, that didn't happen. Here, I go into why I thought it got really bad, and why I was so incredibly disappointed with the series. But I also discuss why I loved it. Yeah, lots of feelings about this one. I hope you enjoy it.

I think the promised neverland is genius because Emma killed the writer and wrote the rest of the story by herself, she was smart enough to know that it was the only way and that any non-meta option wouldn't work

The story was like writing an essay with a time limit. The first few paragraphs are clear and well structured. You have 5mins left to write the last few paragraphs.

One of the things that always pissed me off so much was how despite Ray being Isabella's BIOLOGICAL SON, they barely interacted when she was literally dying and instead Emma got all the screentime. God, they did Ray so dirty its painful

I never watched season two because I felt like it had a perfect ending. They wanted to escape the farm and they did. It made me happy to know that they escaped and I didn’t need anything more.

The little kids who’s siblings were killed, eaten, and were on the verge of being eaten multiple times, and are most likely traumatized by the events. And the fact that they only met TWO demons who dont eat humans: “Yea let’s go!”

wouldn't emma's sacrifice in the end have been more meaningful if she'd remembered her family but they didn't? because if she just forgets, she won't exactly know what she was missing lol

Manga problem: everything post Goldy Pond is too rushed and under developed.
Solution?: develop this part of the story more in the anime
What the anime actually does: rushes the whole rest of the story and makes the problem even worse

The problem with this manga:
The first arc feels like attack on titan. We don't know anything about the outside and it's all about getting clues one by one.
The rest of the manga is like Fairy Tail. A constant introduction of characters that get forgotten next arc, an incredible abuse of the nakama power and no matter how great the danger is everyone survives without problem

It became from this thriller, bloody, and mature manga into a shounen manga where friendship and dedication is the master key for all problems.

I was pissed off when I learned the anime skipped the goldy pond arc. I felt like that arc has such a huge impact on the story and I feel bad that the creators of TPN got rushed.
