It honestly doesn't get much better than this

You have to love seeing a 7th round pick grind his way up to a shot at the NHL. This is Rafael Harvey-Pinard, a 24 year old rookie who has never played for a team outside of Quebec, went underrated his first year, was as a 7th round pick the next year and even now after making his way all the way to the show, is playing for the Montreal Canadiens, in Quebec. That in and of itself is a pretty great story. Well, last night in their matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets, heading into the 2nd tied at two a piece, Harvey-Pinard scored not 1, not 2 but 3 goals in the same period for his first career NHL hat trick! This was the first time in over 70 years a Canadiens rookie scored 3 in 1 period and just the 5th time in franchise history! I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video !

I was there yesterday and the reason Gally is telling him to stand up and wave is that he received a 2 minutes standing ovation from the crowd. The Bell centre went absolutely nuts

Being happy for others, reveling in their happiness is my antidote for unhappiness. Your focus on his unbridled joy on the bench makes this video priceless to me, great job!

I love to see an older rookie making the most of his opportunities! It would’ve been easy for Raphael to give up on nhl dreams after turning 21, 22, 23 years old, but he didn’t; he loves to play hockey and that is what the game needs! Congratulations and i am an Habs fan who will be watching the careers of several young players from this team closely!
Go Habs!!

What a great story. Say what you will about the Habs, they have an incredible fan base and the energy in the Bell centre is next to none. Toronto doesn't even come close.

Watching hockey is usually about the standout players and what they can do, but there will always be time for those guys who have to try a little bit harder to make it and we all love it when they do. Everybody loves to see an underdog pull through and its nice to see some good stories come from the Habs this season. I just wish I could hear Danny Gallivan calling out his name in the play by play.

This is probably the best story of the season for the Habs. It took so many injuries for him to get his chance, but he did so well, he could become an important part of the team for the years to come!

New to hockey and I love this channel and it’s content. Seriously I had no idea of the backstory or history of this important moment. Where do you find all this info and how can a novice like myself get good at picking up all this information?

I’m in the NYR/NYI/Bruins/Habs/Sens corridor, and it can get pretty dicey when you meet someone wearing different swag. But after this, no one cares.

I hope to see more or Monsieur Harvey-Pinard in the coming seasons. Kid looks like he’s got a bright future ahead of him.

Wideman's face at 0:24 really represents how his season has been going. Great on RHP, smart talented kit. He's gonna be around for the rebuild but most likely not when we're ready to compete, or will he? :)
