But how did you crack it? It fell over and the bars hit the top tube? It sure looks like it.. We know it's fragile but it shouldn't be that fragile.

Did the handlebars make contact with frame?

That's the basic principle of ultrasonic inspection. They used to check train wheels for cracks by tapping them with a hammer too.

guess eggshell was a description of the frame in general, not just the paint color.

Same happened to me with an orbea 😢. Repaired though, but such a fragile bit of kit

I always make a ultrasonic inspection. Just stand next to your bike outside and scream in pain at it after you spend 14'000k and this happend on your first holiday day after you travelt 2000miles with your car and the bike on the back of it. 😅

as a 110kg rider I am glad I chose to go aluminum frame. I'm above the weight limit for my carbon wheels but they are holding up so crossing my fingers. At least I don't have to worry about my frame.

Thank you for your polite reply. I do apologize for my snippy comment. Something smacked your top tube. Carbon just doesn’t crack on its own. Curious though, you just bought this bike. Shouldn’t specialized have sent you a replacement as they have a crash program? I do enjoy your videos. Especially enjoy seeing Natasha videos for obvious reasons lol. You are a lucky man! Sorry about your bike and look forward to new DR videos 😊
