You, not my local shop taught me proper draw. Thank you!

I'm learning good technique from this channel, and I'm a lanky bastard, so it's all about the high elbow!

Ok that looks way easier I'm guilty of using the small shoulder muscles. Can't wait to practice with this helpful tip

Ive been shooting since 10. Im.37. I purpously taught myself how to draw anyway any situation. Sitting down shooting will teach you proper technique

I changed this when I videoed myself last year — good to see here!

Thanks for the refresher demonstration. I've been drawing like this for years, but i notice you draw a couple inches out from your cheek, then bring it in. I think I slowly drifted and started pulling more straight back to my cheek. A habit that made me punch myself in the nose HARD when the release hook broke mid draw. Gotta adjust and practice!

This convinced me that I should subscribe to Bow Deciples

Nice video. First form is also more likely to cause injury. Seems like a proper draw is rarely taught

Sticking you butt will get even more back muscle engagement. It’s a secret to reach 150lbs

Took me several years to understand how to draw my bow most efficiently. For me, it’s much easier/smoother to draw like this.

Great on the range but I got to cut that movement down in the woods

I'd say it depends on your body mechanics. Focus on the position where you feel the most lat contraction. Mine is almost in line, slightly high.

Fine for target shooting but I never raise my bow higher than the target. Deer pick up on movement so I draw while raising the bow. Never putting the tip of the arrow higher than your target. If you can’t do that comfortably you need to reduce draw weight.

I was drawing with a higher elbow and one of my rotator cuff tendons slipped over my bone. A pop and crunch noise happened and felt like my shoulder dislocated. Couldn’t draw my bow for about six weeks. Now I draw pretty much with a level elbow but still using my back muscles.

Put the twistlox under the limbs and on the riser.
Makes a huge difference.

The low draw is done most of the time because of shoulder issues. I can’t do the high draw for this vary reason. The low draw is also nice for tree stands when in tight areas and is not picked up by animals as easily as the high draw.

Either way you're using mostly lat, just different parts. The front shoulder does very little on any pulling motion. The first one might recruit more bicep than the second, which is connected to the front delt and might give the impression you're using that front shoulder muscle.
