It may not be a death match, but in this short video I show you how I use both paper notes and notes on my iPad and iPhone. It's a short video that might give you an idea or two. Worth a watch.

I absolutely couldn’t agree more! Depending on the application, both are equally helpful and It’s significant that you illuminated this point!

I am 61 and my Dad also carried a notepad and pen in his shirt pocket all the time. In fact, he is 84 and still does!

Good video. Can you tell me which magnetic screen protector you use? I have a Paperlike in my Mini 6 but there is no doubt that screen quality is affected

When I visit customers, I carry a notebook to record key points from the meeting. Using an iPad (which I own and love) would distract from the meeting I think. Not to mention that if it takes place on the shop floor, it may not be practical at all. Plus, it's easy to thumb through the pages to find notes from previous meetings. I think there is a place for both. Thanks for your inspiring videos!

Hybrid for the win!! I am 68, recently retired software developer ... Up until a year ago I always had a small "legal pad" for scratch notes, but then I switched to Rocketbook ... a notebook that has pages that work like a whiteboard with Pilot Frizion erasable pens. So ... less waste of paper. I take notes. Most are erased, but important notes I move to Photo Albums or Notes. This goes for "work" items as well as home items: shopping lists, short/long term goals/plans, and even with my new retirement hobby: sketching.

My Apple Notes has a page for Desk Notes and another for Pocket Notes which I’d transcribe from jottings. My handwriting doesn’t yet work well with an Apple Pencil. Need to practice. Meanwhile, I’m dictating, but that’s not 100% and catching errors annoys me 8^). I like your hybrid system, but written notes bring back memories which I think are worthwhile.

It is convenient to have all your notes in one place. But your right pen and paper is faster sometimes! 😊

I enjoy your videos. I am interested in purchasing a newer iPad. Mine is 5 years old. Do you have any suggestions in iPads for seniors?

Have you done a video on using an iPad + Laptop setup for a 2 screen functionality with one keyboard?

Rich, this is a good video and in my experience (as an old guy too) a hybrid system works great. It took me a while to figure out what works for me, but once I did it became comfortable and I no longer feel conflicted over which medium to use. BTW, can you tell us what the notebook with the spiral at the top is, please? As a lefty, I would love this! thanks!

What is the paper like product you use

Put your iPhone on speaker and make notes on your iPad. Works for me.

Seems to me that there’s no reason to have to choose between the two. Lots of value in using the stylus on the iPad. Obviously, scribbling a note on paper is a convenience you wouldn’t want to forego.

Ah the more I technology the more I hate it. I’ve been around computers etc my whole life it seems. I’m 64 now and use an IPad because my handwriting is pretty much unreadable, but it’s always been that way. I don’t like them or want them but I have no other choice.

seems like you use ipad and iPhone and not a laptop. why is that? the only difference I can see is the drawing ability with iPad which I don't do.
