So many experts in the comments who have probably never owned an N54. 🙄

The intake cones do a good job. While standing they get warmer air but when driving it makes no difference whether the original air filter box or the cones are installed only that they bring more power.

I've owned a N54 for a few years. Build it to single turbo without kit. Tried a lot of mods and I would recommend you to get a bigger intercooler and a water-methanol injection. With these mods your car won't overheat. The water-methanol injection will also help to clean the ports so there is no need for walnut blasting the intake ports. PCV Valve Upgrade is a good invested 50 bucks too. With these Upgrades you won't need a Catch Can.
When upgrading to bigger Turbos dont forget to get the 3.5bar Sensor.

Greetings from Germany! ✌🏼

Also inlets and outlets are a big plus. In combination with the downpipes and the tune, intercooler etc will land you about another 60 hp. It’s pretty aggressive with them inlets/outlets

burger motorsport make a 500hp* kit for like $1200. Includes, dual cones, charge pipe, intercooler, stage 1 HPFP, 2 step colder plugs, and jb4

Don’t take advice from someone who uses dress up bolts. You want to first bulletproof everything before making any upgrades. Take off all the plastic bs under the hood. Cbc crank guard, billet coolant tank etc. Once everything is upgraded for durability and preventative maintenance purposes, then you can degrade yourself to every budget n54 build (cold air intake, fbo, single turbo with no supporting mods, etc…) or you can go the extra mile and actually get meaningful upgrades (hpfp overdrive/ secondary fueling, better coil packs and one/two step spark plugs, upgraded axles, csf radiator, diff, suspension (not just coilovers but actually replacing tie rods, sway bars, end links etc…) If you really want to learn how to make the most of the n54, forums are your friend

Brotha no hate at all. Make a new short but make sure you put #2 as an upgraded front mount intercooler aka FMIC in case anyone was wondering what that meant. Our cars run hot as it is, more boost = higher tempts. That’s why ppl be losing their seals all day and they end up with oil leaks everywhere and coolant leaks. The maintenance don’t mean Chet if they overheat constantly. How do I know? I work on my own Chet 😂 no hate. Keep the temps lower and it will keep it bullet proof pull after pull instead of just a few pulls before the gaskets start melting. Get you an upgraded CSF radiator, an aluminum water pump, aluminum valve cover and everything you posted and now you have a European Honda, even FBO. Upgraded tts or single turbo means better parts like a high pressure fuel pump, newest injectors… etc. I can geek out on N54s all day 😅 if anyone needs help with them in NORCAL, let me know. Mechanics be skimping stupid hard on labor and diagnostics. Shit is a shame bc these machines are amazing when running right 👏

Best way to buy this cars is already getting full bolt on but index 12’s injectors need to be installed to run well this cars are notorious for misfires and bad injectors besides that cars are the best for the money if you know what you doing 😅

He forgot a few key things. Maintenance is most important and the things you wanna do are upgrade from the plastic charge pipe, upgrade the plastic water pump to an aluminum one, upgrade the the valve cover to an aluminum one and change the gasket, upgrade the PVC to an aluminum one, BUY A CRANK SEAL PROTECTION GUARD..trust me very important, do the oil housing gasket, do the auto trans oil cooler, auto trans oil cooler return hose, all the coolant hoses, a metal flang for the coolant hose, the radiator, get NKG 2 step cooler spark plugs, upgrade or get new coil packs, get a 3.5 Bar TMAP sensor AND the adapter, aluminum power steering pulley, VVT solenoids, boost solenoids, pressure fuel sensor AND adapter, HPFP, LPFP, for me i had to change my voltage regulator on the back of the alternator, and last an oil chnage. Probably missing a few things for maintenance but you get the idea that if you want to push this car its gonna cost...and thats just maintenance. Once thats done you can start adding performance mods so you want to go with a bigger aluminum intercooler, (if you're still twin turbo) new 1.75" or 2" inlets and outlets depending on your turbo size, all aluminum CFS radiator, catless downpipes, cat back exhaust, dual cone intakes, BMS cowl delete, 17t or 19t turbos if you're on a budget (i have 17t's and they put in work but mine are smoking after a yr and a half of driving. They were only $720 so🤷🏾‍♂️, upgrade the fueling system, steel brake lines, stop tech rotor set, new shocks or coilovers since your gonna do the brakes and be down there, and last get a MHD tune to bring it all together. I think its $110 for the Flasher, $70 for Mboost, and $80 for the monitoring license. That and maybe a few things i might have missed should get you right if you're looking to get started with the basics

mhd backend, e40 fuel, dual walbro 450s, max those stock turbos ouut at 500whp ish. dual cone intakes, intercooler and charge pipe. the china downpipes, bov, charge pipe and intercooler are cheap and work just fine. i made 800whp on china parts with a good turbo kit before my stock engine gave up.

Thank you for mentioning number one 🤣🤣, I hate seeing people buy bmws, blow them off the motor mounts, blow out engine and then say bmw sucks cause they can’t afford the maintenance or proper upstages to keep them running

My Fusion makes right around 370 whp and it's tune only 🙃. I'd love to run a tuned 335i someday.
