Hello, loved the video.
I have tried to grow lotus numerous times but after the seeds sprout and the stem gets to certain length of approx 6 inches the seeds start rotting and no roots grow.
Any suggestion?

I am growing lotus as a crop, the core of the seeds can be eaten if cooked or raw

You had the best tool sat right there, the fret saw, I cut a groove around mine with a hacksaw then simply broke the end of the shell off without damaging the seed inside. Also I used rain water, as I understand Tap water may have chlorine in it.

Wouldn't sandpaper work just as good if you don't have a grinder?

Thanks, how do you spot the white fuzzy mold? I change the water 2xday, some are not sprouting as happens. Is peroxide safe, rinse it off? I have one set sprouting in a bin of fish so I need to be careful

Did I do something wrong by using my sulphur water? Most have a tiny green leg in there, but one is 2 inches long. That one now floats. But I started them on the 9th and it's been 20 days.
