Planting Instructions:-
lotus Pot size: 20 inch diameter and 12inch height,
For larger cultivars use large containers accordingly.
Preferably use containers with flat circular base for planting with NO HOLES.
Medium –cow dung powder 20 % (Or Goat manure ) Normal Soil 70% Bone meal 10%( if available)
Fertilizer : No need initial days, after 4/5 arial leaves or a month you may add fertilizer, that promote flowering (higher Phosphorus content than Nitrogen and Potassium)
(Example : NPK -19-19-19)
Drop the tubers in plain water for 3-4 days and keep aside where there is enough sunlight.
Planting Method:
• Use correct size pot with no holes
• Cow dung powder 20 % Soil 70% with a handful of bone meal 10% will work wonder.
• Do not damage the lead growth tip of the lotus tuber
• Dip the tuber in fungicide (Bevistine power 5gm in 1 Ltr water ) for 10 minutes before planting
• Gently place tuber on top of soil, cut end at side of pot
• Cover with small amount of soil
• Add water
• Top off with water to top of growing tip
• Place in full sunlight
• Fertilize once first standing leaf grows or after one month.
