As a Protestant, this is the main thing I agree with on with Orthodox and Catholics

"There's only one in the audience, and that one is God."

THESE ARE HOLY WORDS!

That’s one of the most profound things I’ve heard. We aren’t the audience in church, God is. Thanks for that.

I’m not Orthodox, but I have great respect for your church. You are good people. God bless you! Keep teaching people about the Lord! 🙏

As a current Protestant minister, I have to tell you, that is exactly what it reminds me of, it is one of the reasons Im considering converting to Orthodoxy, Im tired of the profane "services" we have.

Psalm 66:1 says, "Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise!"

I remember going to an event at a non-denominational Christian church and towards the end there was a group of teenagers crowded around the front jumping up and down and not letting the event even end. The worship band would finish and the group of teens would start chanting another worship song and the worship band would play that song. I remember briefly thinking to myself “what makes this different than kids that age out at a club or secular concert” I was looking at them with judgement, then I heard what I know was the voice of God saying “they are worshipping Me”, that’s what made it different and at thay moment I saw a group of teenagers who could of been anywhere else on a Saturday night joyfully worshipping the King of kings and it filled me with such wonder and awe I began to cry. God is looking for those who worship Him in spirit and truth, there are Catholics, orthodox, and Protestants whose worship is more of a performance or merely ritual and there are souls in each group truly worshipping the Lord in spirit and truth.

Amen. I already talked to an orthodox priest and will be attending my first Divine Liturgy. Thank you for this channel. ❤

As a person raised Orthodox, some of the most devout, faithful, enduring and loving Christian’s I’ve ever known were my Protestant friends. We are all followers of Christ. Let us not let the world divide us from that.

I started attending this week during holy week and I've been moved to join orthodoxy. I realized while witnessing the worship it's a performance for Gods glory not our own. I am learning humility. Please pray for me on my journey into orthodoxy. Glory be to God.

All Megachurches have is euphoria.
There's no euphoria in an Orthodox divine liturgy.
There's peace.
There's calmness.

I was raised in Roman Catholicism, but in my teenage years, a faction of my family had me going to nondenominational 'services' quite often. Thank you for articulating so well what I never could to them.

Update: I am in the middle of my catechumen journey in Orthodoxy.

As someone who is a big fan of modern worship, the reason for me is because the energy of the songs allows me to fully express how on fire I am for God. As much as I love hymns, most of them are too chill and reserved for me to fully express my love and praise and overall excitement for God, especially during times of joy.

Worship is allowed to look different for different people. Some people feel more connected to God in a calm environment, while others are so full of passion and joy that they have to use all their energy in their worship.

And just like people can misuse modern worship for non-worship reasons, people can likewise misuse hymns and traditional worship for non-worship purposes.

It's not about what the worship looks like, but the intent behind it. And because God is a personal being that wants a personal relationship with each of us, worship is going to look different from person to person, and God is okay with that so long as the intentions are the same.

What is being discussed are cultural differences. All Christians are blessed to be in church

The father at my church (Catholic) would face the people for some parts of mass like his sermon, but then turn towards the cross for other parts like the Eucharist. I think the idea is that during the sermon he’s acting as a vessel for God‘s wisdom and so the Holy Spirit is working through him as a teacher which is why he faces the people. Made sense to me.

I cried tears the first time i witnessed an orthodox baptism... it was my son's. He not only vocally publicly received Jesus Christ as His Savior, God in the flesh who dwelles among us, BUT he ALSO denounced publicly the devil. There's a lot more to their beautiful baptism, but this opened a flood of deep emotions as I have watched and been baptized Protestant, yet not one of the baptism i watched or my own, denounced the devil and all its evils! Not one spoke the scriptures, cleansing and liberating, over the baptismal water. Then i attended their services where i wept again as I saw them worship Jesus through His Word and through His Psalms..the incense, the prayer, venerating the Holy scriptures... how they take holy communion sacredly!!! My whole being was overflowing with thanks.🌈🕊💖💖🙏

I grew up in a church that use bands to deliver their worship to the Lord, some songs have slow tempos, and some go crazy, but I will testify that it has helped me through my journey with Christ especially just listening to it when I'm doing my things and while travelling.

After we die and present ourselves before him, he will be delighted, cause at the end of the day, it was our faith that got us into his kingdom.

PRAISE BE TO THE HOLY TRINITY❤❤❤

AMEN.
