As a professional residential plumber I'm not a huge fan of crimp pexs in general but it has its place and the new program rings are a huge over the old style that was easy to place in the wrong spot. I personally like PEX a or expandable PEX for multiple reasons but the main reason is because the inside diameter of crimp pex fittings is actually smaller than the inside diameter of expandable PEX fittings.

Instead of installing elbows, why not do a wider 90 bend and save those crimps!
