Bring Back MST3K Kickstarter

There's a Kickstarter out there dedicated to bringing back MST3K. How was not going to make a video about this?

Well almost the complete casting has been announced and I for one couldn't be any happier. Joel has chosen comedian Jonah Ray to take over the Joel and Mike character and comedians Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn to voice Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo. Now I am not that familiar with Jonah Ray or Hampton Yount so I cannot speak about how they will fit into the show that I remember MST3K to be but I am very familiar with Baron Vaughn and I have to say that he is absolutely perfect for the role of Tom Servo. I (just like the guy in this video) am a huge, die hard fan of MST3K and fall asleep to it every night. And I was a little skeptical when I heard that it was gonna b a new cast but after seeing what Joel is doing I am very excited to see new episodes!!!

When I heard about this this morning I instantly thought I wonder what Crow reckons. On the reddit AMA for this Joel talks about a Doctor who style reinvention like going through hosts. The problem I have with this is that the characters in the kickstarter are overacting the originals. Either get the originals or get new voices and/or characters. It is like when you play a pin and they have bad mimic voice acting. Terminator was the only one that comes to mind that got the original voice talent instead of overacting the originals to save money. In the AMA Joel also says he has cast the people already as one guy asks whether he could audition.

It all depends on the cast members for me, and I could still be swayed if they announce them before the end of the Kickstarter campaign. I'll just have to wait and see who they get.

Probably because that the original cast members were afraid that MST 3K was gonna get cancelled for a third time that they did not want to take chances into being hurt again.

Damn bad timing for this Kickstarter to go up.
I really want to contribute but I will not be able to get anything until next year due to getting holiday gifts and pinball parts for my pinball machine I am working on.
I have a feeling they will get lots of money and at least enough to do the 3 episodes.
It just sucks I cannot help out with something I love from my childhood. :|
