How funny that there are still stories going round about the carved stones of Ocucaje Peru. In the 70teens I was on an Archeological Investigation team from the PUC University in Lima to research the origin of the carved stones. First: they are never found in tombs. They are river stones with a soft upper layer of a few millimeter. They are collected at night by the very poor inhabitants living in de desert in mud and straw houses. I have pictures of some of the inhabitants working the stones. First they did not want to show us anything, afraid of loosing their income. 16:10 16:10 That’s how we found out the upper softness of the stones. They had a backgarden poorly fenced with reed full with stones of all sizes in carving process. Once a stone was ready, they had a bucket with mud to leave the stone in a night a dried it in the sun the next day. A good polish and voila, a new archeological find. About the drawing they told us that they use the schoolbooks of the children and they use many medical and extraterrestrial themes because de doctor likes that. I still have some stones at home. They are ALL made in Ocucaje. And they are very interesting, just like the people who made them . Ask me anything you want to know (We found the river and with 12 persons could not find one carved stone for hours)
