Could your body endure deep space? These test subjects are about to find out.

For the next 60 days, a group of people will be on intense bed rest, with their beds tilted back six degrees at all times to make blood and fluids move to the head. The test, which is being conducted by the European Space Agency, simulates the changes astronauts encounter in space.

It's not as easy as it sounds, as space agencies have been conducting bed rest studies for years. This time, the European Space Agency is testing a new nutrition formula — a vitamin and antioxidant "super-cocktail" — to see if it combats muscle deterioration and bone weakening.

The group will undergo rehab afterwards in the same fashion astronauts do, in order to help them readjust to normal, "upright" life again.
