Great video! My favorite part was 2:47 - 2:53. Everyone needs to learn how to DIY. Even if you fail, you learn from your mistakes and it is a great experience!

This did work for me. All I had on hand was some pure acetone and that worked fine. I know people use acetone in place of alcohol for certain things. I used my blow dryer to heat it up. I tried to take the battery out too soon though. It was stuck real good. It bent a little but no big deal in the end. I reheated it an added more acetone and it came out. Then you surprised me by saying "now go backwards to put it back together" lol I did it though. Took about 30-45 mins. Thank you so much.

I recommend going ahead and buying a replacement side button flex cable rather than trying to remove/reuse it. I was unable to remove it without damaging it, and had to replace it. Fortunately, it's a $2 part.

The little gaskets for the mics (seal the gap between the frame and rear cover) needed to be transferred over from my own phone frame. Great video. Just finished replacing the screen on my own phone. Thanks!

Does the 2023 version come apart the same way?? Do you have a video for the G 5G (2023)??

This is the 6.5" version or XT-2213. Would you happen to have a video on how to do the same repair on the 6.8" model XT-2215? They're similar but some differences and I'm not sure how to get the buttons out. Also can you please tell me what type of adhesive glue is recommended for reattaching the button ribbons to the new frame and also what type of glue to use to bond the LCD to the frame if I decide to get the LCD/digitizer assembly separate without frame. The way this one is put together, it may be easier to replace the display then swap the buttons and ribbons into a new frame. Thanks!

I'm thinking about doing a repair on this model - which would make it my first DIY phone repair. When is it safe to opt *just* to replace the LCD screen rather than ordering a screen preinstalled on a new frame/chassis? Would this save enough money to make sense?

I am looking at repairing my daughter's. You mentioned the variance by year. I am only seeing one screen and frame option for it so I assume any difference is just internal connection based but the different years use the same Digitiser and frame ? I hope so at least or I have one coming that won't work😂. Great video too, efficiently to the point. Bravo!👏

Thanks for this video, i bought the screen with a frame, and the only thing I didn't notice is whether you need to use glue something or not needed?

This video is really great. One question? The only thing you didn't show is putting the back back on. Do you need glue or anything to seal the back? I need to fix my speaker and I want to make sure I have all the parts.

Thanks for the tuto.
But after replacing the screen with frame, the screen is working but I see the Motorola logo on screen then it shuts down, then this is looping infinitely.

Any ideas what could be wrong ?

I love that all the screws are the same on this phone. I was going to buy a kit but I might have that laying around. What size phillips screw driver did you use?

Can you please make a video on how to replace a cracked screen on this phone? I can't find anything anywhere at all and it would be very helpful 🙏

When i was pulling the strips for the volume and power button, i wrecked the adhesive, and the new screen i have does not have any adhesive preinstalled. What could i use to stick the strips back down?
