I've had mine for a few weeks now. It's an excellent phone for the price, great screen, excellent refresh rate and wonderful quality build. Beautiful phone and I picked two up for $299 each with an additional free 256gb SD card. This dude is being way too critical about the most unnecessary things, the stylus is great quality and I love the weight and size of it. I don't think this guy likes Motorola and he makes it well known.

I totally agree! At the $500 price it was not worth it, but I picked mine up for $329 on prime day and at that price it is a steal. I love Motorola phones and have been using the G power phones for a number of year. I went with the G stylus, because sadly, the G power phones have been lacking in the past couple of years.

My G stylus is the unlocked version with the 8GB/256GB model plus the extra 256GB SD card that came with. I don't really use the stylus, but I love the phone and with Motorola now offering 3 years of security updates, I will be using this phone through 2025 easily.

Let me guess, you're not exactly a fan of Motorola. Personally I think you were a little too critical of a phone that offers as much as it does. $500 for a smartphone is nothing by today's standards so I think it is priced just right for what you get.

I currently have the moto g stylus 5g 2022. I did purchase it for 500 dollars unlocked. The phone isn't perfect but what phone is? No phone is worth the price that's advertised. This is a really solid device. Stock android experience, as close to a pixel as you can get. 8 gb of ram which is expandable to 10gb which is awesome. 256 gb of internal memory with expandable memory SD card. Solid cameras, and a lot of features that some flagships don't have. The unlocked version is the big boy of the Carrier version because you get the best. The 695 g processor is a solid and capable processor. Overall, this phone to me is worth it. Good review but because of what you're getting, this is an exceptional device to me.

I got this for $300... it's definitely worth $300. Tweak the settings a bit and it's a crazy capable phone.

Fun fact: The stylus not only works with this phone, but is a replacement stylus for my 2DS. Works for DS emulation, too

I already bought mine for half off, and appreciate the critical review. I wasn't going to buy it at full price.

But for me having the best capacity in the stylus line within this (discounted) price range was a must for my work.
I'm an artist, and need to sketch out ideas on the fly sometimes, do lots of visual planning and vision board type stuff.
So I do not regret my purchase.

That said, I wholeheartedly agree that styluses today should have at least SOME pressure sensitivity.
(Lighter pressure for thinner & lighter pigment, heavier pressure for a thicker line & more opaque pigment)

High tech dedicated artist tablet pens today run as low as $15.
I don't see a reason why they can't/won't do this. Artists would gobble them up, especially being a more affordable option. They'd have a niche cornered all to themselves.

Drawing tablets can be expensive, and the affordable ones need to be hooked up to your computer to run.
If you don't have a laptop you are stuck at your stationary pc a lot.

Pressure sensitivity aside.
I'm excited to be able to sketch quick ideas for projects away from my computer, and still do it on a device so that I can quickly send/upload those files from and a decent enough camera to even snap photos of irl sketches to edit further on my device if needed.

Not gonna lie I just got the phone and I went from the A51 5G UW and it's surprisingly better... I haven't had any hiccups even heavy gameplay and the camera is a little bit better by like a tad with its light balancing and shadows. I recommend it.

I wish LG didn't go out of business. I feel they would have stepped up their game to this point (Stylo 8) and it would have rivaled Samsung in terms if a budget option. Hopefully someone sees the real demand and ups their game and delivers something for us stylus freaks! Great vid as always brotha!

Lol under 60% brightness you can't see anything yet I could clearly see the image on the screen. Yeah you definitely got it out for this phone

I ordered it this week for $350, and for that.. it's been great. This is to replace the Z Play my dad uses, and it's a decent upgrade for him (the Z play's battery is finally dying). I typically carry flagship devices, but overall.. i'd be fine using this.

Got the styles g 5g for 60 bucks for switching to metro, I still think it was a deal for me. I had a phone that was almost 10 years old and I did t want to spend more than 200 bikcs and I needed a phone line and this ended up being the phone I choose and really liked out of the bunch that was available as I didn't really want an iPhone.

That being said I agree. 400 bucks is a lot for a phone like this but I think there's a bigger reason, it's to keep it cheap for the phone companies who want to sell phones at a price from msrp to retail price in store for people with a tighter budget, to entice people like me to get a phone like this.

I mean for 60 bucks this phone is amazing, but other than people like me, who else is this phone for, other than the budget crowd of things, if the budget crowd that this phone is being offered to won't pay it? hence why this phone was like 60 bucks for me and people switching it's to get people to switch to new phone companies, and that's why I bought it because I was getting a new phone line when I previously did not have one and needed a new phone.

So if you need a new phone but not a new line or don't want to switch companies, u don't need this phone if you can afford to pay more that 500 bucks, because most switch price phones, will cost less than retail price of the phone, but if on a tighter budget and u want to switch and can't spend more than 100 bucks, this phone might just be for you

People get on my nerves because they try to compare these phones to a 1500/2000 thousand phones such as Apple and Samsung. No, this phone is not like those but I have this phone and it works so amazing for me. I have had no issues whatsoever. They really out did themselves with this phone in my opinion. The phone is well worth the price you pay and you get what you pay for, however idk where this price is coming from because I got mine for 299 and it's truly a wonderful phone, it takes excellent pictures, provides me with more than enough space to store everything and the battery life on these are amazing also. I won't ever go back to Apple or Samsung. Beware of these reviews because I have seen a few that are off when reviewing a phone.

I got it through Straight Talk for $238 for the phone, a case, a screen protector, and a service card. For under $250, I'm happy with it.

I did not know that there are two versions: G Stylus 5G 2022 and G Stylus 2022 with no 5G.

You can get it for under 200 from a carrier although with less storage. Also I don't see the larger screen bezel as a negative since - at least in my experience - having tiny bezels makes it difficult to touch the edge of the screen consistently once you put a case on .

I'm eligible for upgrade so going to pick this up soon. Mainly for the 5G, but I already have the 2020 G Stylus and it has been a great phone. I only have to pay $220 for it so I think that's fair. I was an LG fanboy for the longest time, I had all the LG Stylos so Motorola has the same quality and feel I'm used to if that makes sense. I miss LG phones but Motorola is doing good so far. Looking forward to this one.

This is presently going for half price $249.99 direct from Motorola. I'm considering it - upgrading from a Moto G7 that I've had for a little over 3 years. Still working perfectly. I wish this one had stereo speakers, as the OP mentioned, and I'm also concerned it won't charge as fast as my G7. Specs say this comes with a 10W turbocharger. My G7 came with a 15W turbocharger and it charges super fast.

I like the 6.8" screen. I just bought the 8G/256G blue version on Amazon for $349. Had to replace my 2020 Moto G Power my dog ate. The Moto Power phones have been crap the last couple of years.
