I am starting to feel more and more satisfied that I ordered myself the new config with an RTX 3070 instead of a price-wise similar 40XX.

The 1000 Series is the best Nvidia has ever created but I think the 3000 series would have taken the crown if the 3080 had 16GB, 3070 had 12GB, 3060 Ti had 10GB. The 3060 should have had 8GB from the start. My daughter has the 3070 and it’s still a great card. The 4060 is a good card really as the frames it can produce on that much power is amazing really. Just needs to be cheaper…

Old Guy, chiming in here to point out that the 40 series card is providing ~80-85% performance with ~60% of the power use and maybe half of the heat/noise load if they engineered the cooling properly.

I actually have a RTX 4060 card paired with a Ryzen 7 5700X. And to be fair i can't fault it at all. Runs the games i enjoy playing on 1440p on my 144hz monitor. I average a consistent and smooth gaming experience. Get roughly 89-90 fps.

Wow so the RTX 4060 actually stinks.. It should be as fast or faster than RTX 3070. I know my RTX 2070 Supers was faster than 1080 and very close to 1080TI in performance. But to be slight Fair RTX 4060 is $139 Less than RTX 3070. But does still seem a little under powered.

After watching these kind of videos i deciede to buy rtx4060. i dont care about what rtx 3070 get a bit better fps(+10 fps) than 4060. i delibrately chose 4060 coz get new technologies and lower (1/2 ) power consumption. i live in turkey and electricity is really really expensive so for long term price/performance rtx 4060 will win soon or late.

Just look at the consumption (W). Those who prefer games (FPS) reach for the 3070 (and higher) and those who prefer work vs. games go for the 4060. That's what I did (4060ti) and I don't regret it.

In my country, the 3070 is 33% more expensive than 4060. So no good deal here. The sellers know their worth.

I went for the 4060, upgrading from a GTX 960m laptop (after like 6 years..finally lol). AI is improving fast. I personally found the idea of DLSS3 with the frame generator feature interesting. Sure it still has issues, such as the image artifact thing, or the input lag increase. But seeing the Nvidea reflex thing for example, i cant help feeling, theres efforts, and a conviction that this issues can be adressed, or solved. If somehow this tech nerd scientists can improve AI enough (and im thinking they will), to solve the graphic issues, AND find a way to bypass the issue of input lag, caused by the extra frame AI generation, providing 2xfps count with lower energy consumption, or even computing strain, its pretty impressive tecnology.
edit: Upon writing this, im still waiting for my new 4060 to arrive in2 days or so. Despite what i learned about the "disappointment" this card was to many, im sure i will enjoy it alot, considering the huge upgrade it is for me lol. Cyberpunk, here i come!! *Cries🤗

Double power draw of the 3070 without double the performance. Clearly Nvidia was like "gamers want efficiency even at the cost of raw performance". And the rest is history.

Both 4060 and amd's rx 7600 are a disappointment when compared to their last gen counterparts. While the rx 7600 at least beats rx 6600 in all benchmarks, the 4060 fails to even do that against the 3060 in many titles. Gamers are being robbed by these greedy corporations.

Guys i would agree that the 40 series is a huge let down but lets not forget the fact the 4060 is almost using half the power for 3070 and considering the dlss 3 and frame generation i believe that it would be able to match 3070 but again i beleive that if anybody wants to have a hige upgrade over 3070, they should go with 4080 or wait for 50 series but fir first time buyers i would totally recommend a 4060.
