Remember when we could make villagers express a mood post dialogue? The only time I've ever seen this in New Horizons is when I said sorry after hitting a villager with a net and they got happy and started skipping around.

I really wish there were villagers that hate you when they first meet you, then over time, when talking to them they open up. This would actually build a connection with them making them actually like people.

Also, if you give them garbage or hit them, they slowly become more distant and stop talking to you. So you would actually have to value them and not just find random crap in your pockets.

The one thing I will Never miss from the old villager interactions is when they'd randomly Take one of my items and give me something (usually Lame) in return, without any warning that they were going to do that when you just wanted to talk to them

Fun fact, I actually put a lot of effort into finding one of the items and when I gave it to my villager, yeah, they called it trash, I was extremely offended (and thankfully I ended up evicting them from the island)
