What is BASIX and how does it work?

BASIX is a mandatory tool for any new home build, and most renovations and swimming pools in NSW - and each section must be individually met. It improves the sustainability and energy efficiency of a home by setting minimum compliance targets for water use, energy consumption and thermal comfort by encouraging alternative sources like water tanks and solar panels. BASIX also uses NatHERS to meet heating and cooling comfort targets based on location and reduces the need for thermal appliances like air conditioners.
