In the 20th century, movements for women's rights and gender equality began to challenge traditional gender roles and the idea of male dominance. Women gained the right to vote and began to enter previously male-dominated professions such as law, medicine, and politics. However, even as progress was made in many parts of the world, male dominance persisted in many forms, including wage gaps, gender-based violence, and barriers to women's advancement in the workplace and politics.
Today, the concept of male dominance is increasingly being challenged and dismantled, as more people recognize the importance of gender equality and the harmful effects of patriarchy.
