For any confusion on the 5 finger one. We can only recieve the recessive allele from our parents . If one of your parents have an extra finger you are more likely to inherit the trait. Its actually more common than you would think

Nah i just learned this in bio. The last one is recessive because people with 6 fingers will always have at least a 50% chance to pass it down. If both parents don’t have 6 fingers it becomes impossible to have a child with 6. Dominant doesn’t mean more common it’s just higher chance to pass down when somebody has it.

For those who are wondering, the six finger trait is a condition called polydactyly. It is really quite rare, but it is the dominant allele if the other is the typical five fingers.

Sometimes recessive traits are more common, just because they’re recessive doesn’t mean they’re necessarily hard to find. If one of our common ancestors had it then it’s very likely that it’ll be passed on to the majority of people. Like having 5 fingers (as seen in the video) is recessive. Plus, it’s actually a dominant trait to have a white streak in your hair, like Nadine Breaty, but most people don’t.
