I attended this concert with my Wife, Kathy. Kath died a few years ago. Each time I hear this concert, I know that somewhere in that vast crowd, our claps and cheers are heard, together.

I was there. Yes, it was a great day, but I had no idea how "significant" this day was. im my humble opinion---one of the greatest days in music history. I am at the end of my life now..Wow, what a ride. This song just reminds me of how much time has passed and how quickly it goes. If you are young....Im not preaching and your life is yours to live as you choose, but trust me--The days are long but the years are short.

He stands there with his hands in pockets/jeans. 500, 000 people there. He sings a song with more meaning than most people even look into. He nails it. He does not grandstand. He MEANT it. The music and the moment will likely be rare to be seen again. Absolutely beautiful.

No fancy dance moves, or costume. He just kept 500, 000 people dead silent with his voice. That is true talent!

Played this for my Dad.
He’s in hospice.
I love you Dad 💙🙏

In the open air, in the middle of the largest city in the country, in front of a reported 500, 000, with just a piano accompaniment, emotional and perfect! What a performance of this amazing song.

Paul Simon wrote an incredible song but he should be grateful he had Garfunkel to sing it so beautifully.

Probably one of the best live vocal performances ever.

I will never get over how Artie sticks his hands in his pockets and casually sings with the voice of an angel. The beauty seems so effortless to him.

Recorded many times but no one else can sing this song like Art Garfunkel, nobody.

I like the piano player. There’s a lot of emotion in his playing.

I went the night before and spread my blanket dead center of the stage 50 feet from the front. I got there about 11 at night and there were 50 people there. It was very finely drizzling but it stopped for good around 2am. By 8am, 100, 000 people were there. By noon 200, 000 and by showtime, which I seem to remember was about 7pm, my wife joined me and there were around 400, 000 people. When Art sang Bridge...you could hear a pin drop. It was like an angel singing and I, along with tens of thousands of others were definetly choked up. It was a moment I'll never forget !

Simon showed grace and class to let Art take this as a solo..

I have heard this covered by many others but no one can hold a candle to the original. Perfect.

This song aches...it echoes deep within....anyone who knows struggle, big or small, recognizes its power to comfort

My husband and I saw Simon and Garfunkel in 2003, just months after he had received a terminal lung cancer diagnosis! He hadn’t been feeling well at all from all the chemo and radiation he had taken all summer. But the Everly Brothers were opening the concert and knowing we would never have this chance again, we got two of the last available tickets. We got them so late, we were seated behind the stage!. The entire concert was indescribable!! But when they turned to sing this to those of us behind the stage and their performance was mirrored on the jumbotron hanging to the right of us, we both hugged each other close and listened with tears streaming down our faces to the most beautiful possible song at that time in our lives being sung right to us. It felt like it was meant to be, That memory will forever live in my heart and mind. Mark lost his battle with Agent Orange lung cancer in May, 2006….💙 On that day, this memory took on a deeper, more poignant meaning. I will always miss him, but this song, will always connect me with him till we meet again. 💙

I met Art Gunfunkel in 2015. We talked for 20 minutes. I talked to him about how much I loved this performance and he said it was an amazing night. A real pleasure to meet him. A true icon!

That was, and still is, probably one of the best vocal performances ever to hear live.

If only once, in this day and age could we find someone with this talent again.

Really solid piano work here by the late, great Richard Tee. Unreal vocal performance by the man
