My first Amp was my TV, my uncle rigged composite cables to a patch cord. I was able to plug my Zoom 505 into the TV and boom was jamming Smoke On The Water until my Momma said "DONT YOU KNOW ANY OTHER TUNE?!?"

This is great advice. Since most people use small cheap amps for practice at home, usually they set the master to low and crank everything else, then wonder why the sound is very gritty. Once I discovered this low gain, high master setting, there was so much more clarity

For those who wondering this is a deep compression made with input and output volumes and an equalization, expecially in cheap amp put down the basses helps every time

You can get great tons of tone from a Spark. Especially mic it to a PA.

For old style solid state amps just roll of the tones. Some amps sound more "tube like" if the tones are dialed down. Some amps have passive eq:s and some active, so results may vary.

My cheap guitar amp (50€) started sound great when I rolled a T-shirt in front of it, taking out the harsh frequencies.
