Why did you use the modern WoW versions of these weapons? Next time use the vanilla stats if you're going to be taking about vanilla weapons so that people can appreciate how good they are instead of seeing the gimped numbers of the modern versions. Really disappointing. :(

I'd put Arcanite Reaper and Ironfoe in honorable mentions

Emberstone staff was my most memorable one, it was my first rare weapon, and on top of that looked really cool, also a lot of people had it because of how early you could get it... Arcanite reaper was everywhere... super iconic.

I liked the video very much, and I appreciate the effort that goes into making these. I want to point out a couple things about Sulfuras. Firstly, the ingots were insanely expensive, even late game. Late game they could sell for 1000g apiece, which is more than the cost of the epic mount. To put that in today's terms on my server, that is like 632, 000 gold per ingot. Secondly, I want to stress that you couldn't have a blacksmith make the hammer for you. You had to BE a blacksmith, which was a very difficult profession to level to that degree. You also needed rep with the Thorium Brotherhood past what you got with normal quests, so there was a grind involved. The cost of the weapon would be unreachable by someone without guild support. I was on an advanced server back in the day, and it was possible for people to buy runs for unwanted loot, but I don't know of anyone who had the funds to buy the eye and make Sulfuras. I remember adding up the cost for me trying to buy it for my Paladin:
50 Arcanite Bars - 2000g
20 Dark Iron Bars - 2000g
25 Essence of Fires - 250g
10 Blood of the Mountain - 100g
10 Lava Cores - 2500g
10 Fiery Cores - 2500g
8 Sulfuron Ingots - 8000g
Total cost: 17, 350g

So, using gold prices in USD to measure inflation, with one gold being worth $0.12 in 2007, and today with one gold being worth $0.00019, that means in today's rates the total cost for my server would be 10, 965, 200g or $2082 if you bought your gold. Crazy.

10, 965, 200g you would have to farm in a total of 3 years---6 months of which you wouldn't have even been max level. So my point is you needed your guild giving you mats from their farm status runs, because no way could an unguilded person just buy this. This was a RARE weapon in Vanilla, even the best of guild toward the end might have three dedicated players with it, and there weren't alot of top end guilds like that. Maybe 20 people total horde and alliance on my server had it over the course of Vanilla? Maybe? When you saw this weapon in BGs you peed your pants.

Peace and thanks again!

Good list, still have my Benediction from Vanilla and stupidly vendored my Rhok’Delar before transmog was a thing. Both were my favorite vanilla quests. But also both were hard for me and took multiple tries.

I still stand by my belief that Dragon's call was the coolest most original weapon in classic wow, I mean randomly spawning a lvl 60 emerald welpling to fight for you for 10 seconds was such a unique weapon perk, and was surprisingly useful against rogues that tried to vanish during duels and warlocks that feared, it was also sick when paladins had un-nerfed reckoning and dragon's call, because when they unleashed 300 attacks at once like 20 welplings would bug spawn. :P

I still have those fist weapons on my warrior. The original ones with the proc. They in my bags all the time because i love to do dungeons and equip em at some point to troll the pugs with its proc. Is amazing how almost noone ever has seen the transformation.

I'd like to say that, you put Atiesh quite high in the list and said that the weapons after that were harder to obtain... I'm very sorry my friend, But you are hella wrong! Atiesh is quite literaly the rarest weapon in game, because of how hard was to obtain. You realize that very few guilds ever got to kill the original Kel'Thuzad? And how many runs you needed just to get the splinters before even need the head and the base? and how hard was the last part of the quest were you had to fight the demon inside? Benediction/Anathema, Quel'serrar and Rhok'delar were easier to get, and you can see people with em frequently in game today. My girlfriend got the bow with her hunter... and she wasn't a super skilled player. I mean, she raided regularly back then, but wasn't what you can call one of the best players. Quel'Serrar was also super easy to obtain... the book was rare, but you could buy it at the AH. I had to farm mine because i didn't had back then 500g to trow away (is what it was going for back then, and 500g in vanilla was a ton of money) and then i ran a pug with my warrior and got the blade. I doubt you can find a player nowaday with Atiesh. Atiesh is the rarest of the weapons in this list, and that's because how hard was to obtain. Corrupted Ashbringer is quite probably the 2nd or 3rd one because of its dificulty, the other that would be up there are the fist weapons (the real ones, not the ones that drop in the current zg that dont have the set/proc) this ones because most people did not realize how special they were, and most people would just ignore them and disenchanted them, so not many people even knew about them and how amazing they actualy are. If you did not play in vanilla back then (i mean the real vanilla, not a shitty pirate server) then you just can't know how hard was to obtain ANYTHING from the original Naxxramas. Not only Naxx was stupidly hard, it also was releazed a couple months only before TBC, which killed the enthusiam of many guilds about it, since the gear would be replaced pretty quickly. During BC, not many people were interested into run an old raid like Naxx, because Transmog wasn't a thing back then (or i assure, there would had been many people forming raids in TBC to get naxx stuff) but a few ones DID indeed went back to finish it, tho, it was still VERY hard even at level 70. I can tell you because i was in one of the groups that wen't back there at level 70.

On the Quel'serrar topic, about AL maybe having it... Quel'Serrar is what is called a "prismatic blade" ancient blades forged by the bs elves, templed by the blood and fire of a dragon. There were several of those made. Quel'Delar for example, can be obtained in Northrend, Is the sister blade to Quel'serrar, and it has a very similar look, which tells you that most of those swords must look a lot like each other. AL probably had in its posesion one of them.

Ashkandi was another sword belonging to AL, But is not the most famous one even. The Great Royal Sword of Stormwind is the most famous sword. Is the one with the lion head on its guard. And is the one that got shattered in the second war, same one that Tyralion grabbed and used in combat, AND he still has in Legion. You can see him wielding it at all times. But now has been "reforged" with light. You can see the missing part of the blade is made of some light like material.

Finaly, when it comes to ICONICAL, the unstopabble force should be in this list, because everybody would seek to get it cuz of the proc and how good it was in pvp.
Other weapons that were SUPER ICONICAL due to everybody wanting them or getting them because they were just realy good (even tho those were obviously super easy to obtain, not rare at all, but thats not the point) :

The Trash blade - from a quest in desolace
Ironfoe - 1h mace, drops from Thaurissan. Epic weapon with epic proc
Arcanite Reaper - Crated 2h axe very good to have to start raiding
Headmaster's Charge - Epic 2h staff from Scholo's last boss, even tho it was quite bad tbh, everybody wanted it because it was one of the few epics you could get before raiding at high level (note how all this weapons were so iconic that they were made into heirlooms)
Dragons Call - 1h epic sword off Eranikus in Sunken Temple, chance on hit to call an emeral dragon to assist you
Linken's sword of mastery - 1h sword from a quest in Un'goro. Not realy that special but the fact that was a reference to Zelda and that was one of the most iconics mega chains in vanilla, made this weapon quite famous.

I'll come back later if i remember another super iconic weapon from back then.

Did someone say *Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker*?

Btw, Ik they’re a little more obscure but I always loved the Warblades of the Hakkari.

it may have just been due to when I started playing but Seethe will always stand out for me. I ran Forge of Souls for that weapon so many times but never was lucky enough to get it.

The moment he popped up Thekal's Grip set with their attack power stats, I knew he didn't play the original WoW or the private servers.

Sorry man... it really feels like you never played Vanilla and did some half assed research...

1. Golemagg is a boss, so ingots weren't all that easy to get, you didn't just farm mobs.
2. Atiesh is Iconic? Well since barely anyone had one its hard to say... but saying it wasn't difficult to get when only 1% of the player base even managed to kill a single boss in original naxx... yeah that doesn't really get any harder to do than that.. Just imagine getting 40 people geared enough for Naxx just to disband when you hit that wall...
3. Dire Maul used to be a highborne city.. night elves weren't really a thing then...

I hope your channel works out for you but sort of reading off of WoWpedia isn't gonna cut it.

Idk where you got your images for all these items but the DPS is wildly off

I agree with carrowmind I had some internal rage about the modern stats over vanilla stats. I'd really consider you reuploading an edit version otherwise you gonna keep getting dislikes.

You also need exalted with Thorium Brotherhood to get the plans for Sulfras.

The actual real list

1: Sulfuras
2: Thunderfury
3: Ironfoe
4: Perdy
5: Asscandy
6: Arcanite reaper
7: Dal'rend set
8: Rhokky
9: Bene
10: Corehound tooth

Anything that came very late in the vanilla simply did not have the
time to become iconic weapons during their lifespan thus all of these
were added to the game quite early on.

Also there are very few caster items because those just frankly were not very iconic
honorable mentions go to Staff of dominance, Staff of the shadow flame and Lok'amir il romathis.
And before you start angrily commenting about this I was a caster myself and this is my personal opinion, you don't have to like it.
